Bellamy ponders Cardiff return as Henderson backed

FRIDAY 13 JULY 2012
Liverpool's Craig Bellamy is giving deep consideration to a move away from Anfield, with Cardiff City wanting to take him back.

The pressure for places is about to get more intense for Bellamy, with manager Brendan Rodgers yesterday moving towards securing the signature of Roma's Fabio Borini before the club leave on their North America tour on Monday.

Mark Hughes, the Queen's Park Rangers manager, who brought Bellamy to Manchester City from West Ham United, would like to take the 32-year-old too, but the allure of being close to his family is likely to make Cardiff, where he spent a season on loan in 2010-11, Bellamy's preferred option. .

It is Jordan Henderson whom Rodgers sees as Liverpool's future. He believes he was subjected to unreasonable levels of expectation in his first season and appears to view him as a far more important part of the future than either Joe Cole, Alberto Aquilani or indeed Bellamy. The manager said: "I look at the young kid Jordan Henderson who got a wee bit of stick last year but do you know what? This is a boy who is 21 years of age. I thought when I first saw him at Sunderland that this kid is going to be a really good player. He's then coming out here for a bucket load of money; coming to a massive club, massive expectation. He moves away from home, he is on his own and he has to be a world-beater straight away.
"It was never going to happen. But this kid can play football. He has got an incredible attitude."

I don't think Henderson is going to be a world-beater, but Rodgers is right that he does seem to have the right attitude to improve at least.

I'd sell him in a heart-beat if we were given our money back, but at the same time I still maintain that there is a decent player there. He's no wide-midfielder though.

‘This kid can play football,’ said Rodgers. ‘If he is in a certain system, in an environment which is going to help him and educated him in the game, you will see that. The biggest thing for me that I’ve heard about Jordan is his attitude. He has got an incredible attitude.
‘If you have got a player like that who has got the ability and the thirst to learn - he can run all day, he is physically good, he is strong, he is quick – and you can remodel him, you can end up getting the value you paid.’

Well at the very least he can see that henderson needs remodelling . Whether Henderson has the balls for the fight is another question . If someone offered 12-15m i'd sell no problem but who knows , maybe Rodgers can get something from him .

So Rodgers has publicly heaped praise on Carragher, Gerrard, Spearing, Henderson Bellamy, and Suarez but says Carroll could go out on loan, Big Andy must be on cloud 9 😀

Im glad he's mentioned Henderson, he's the one Dalglish signing that really would work in his system, he'll be a much better player this season.

Yep.

If Henderson doesn't come good I'm gonna look a right bellend. Almost all my mates share Woland view of him being shite & I've been backing him.

This is the wrong attitude Jon. You'll come off looking human as you'll have finally made a mistake after 30 years of perfection.

Henderson will thrive in the system that Rodgers wants to implement. He is made for that type of football.

I'm still well and truly in the Henderson camp. He'll become a great player and i think we'll see a marked improvement under Rodgers straight away.

He needs testicles. If he grows testicles then he'll be nearly as good as shelvey
