Liverpool are rivalling Arsenal for West Bromwich Albion wonderkid Yan Dhanda.

The 14-year-old was signed up by Albion after being spotted in an Asian Soccer Star talent competition and his performances have already caught worldwide attention on the internet.

Dhanda's development has been recognised by FA coaches who have called him up to attend a training camp with England U16s even though he is two years younger than most of the other players.

Liverpool have already plundered West Bromwich Albion for Jerome Sinclair who became the Anfield club's youngest ever player last season and they are keen to follow up with a move for Dhanda.

The teenager, who likes to wear the Number 10 shirt and lists Italy playmaker Andrea Pirlo among his idols, shot to prominence when he won the U11s category of the Asian Star competition hosted by Chelsea.

Few players of Asian background have made a breakthrough in the Premier League yet there are high hopes for Dhanda and the commercial revenue could prove lucrative if he fulfills his potential.

Sportswear giants Nike have already latched onto his talent and have sponsorship deals in place.

Who cares about signing a 14 yr old . the first you should hear about these lads is down the pub just before a match when your mate goes " you see the manager has put some 17 yr old on the bench today ? " .."ah yeah who's he ? " ..."no idea , but i heard he's been doing well in the ressies and is fast as fuck" .

Liverpool beat off the challenge of Arsenal to secure the signature of the 14 year old, who was unearthed in a competition for Asian communities held by Chelsea in 2010.

In a major fillip to the Indian community in the United Kingdom, 14-year old Yan Dhanda became the first ever player of Indian origin, to sign for Liverpool FC.

The player broke the news on his official Twitter handle.

The young prodigy, billed as one of the most exciting prospects in the West Bromwich Albion academy, during his time at the club, had a host of clubs in the race for his signature, with Arsenal being the Anfield based club's chief rivals for his signature.

Dhanda was discovered by Chelsea's club scouts in 2010, under the banner of a competition named “Search for an Asian star”, which was held amongst the Asian community in UK.

The youngster, who bills Andrea Pirlo as one of his idols, won in the U-11 category, and was given a chance to train with the Blues.

It was here that he was spotted by West Bromwich Albion, and eventually joined their academy. He made rapid strides out there, and was soon called up for an U-16 England training camp, at the young age of 14.

Interest from clubs and sponsors soon followed, and a leading sportswear giant signed him up as their ambassador, while Arsenal and Liverpool clashed for his signature, back in January.

Eventually, the youngster decided to move to Anfield, in what can be termed as a landmark moment for the Indian community, worldwide.
