Yarmolenko

We're apparently looking to sign a left winger. Yarmolenko is left footed....

“His ideal position is in the No10 role,” said Rodgers, who is also in the market for an experienced central defender. “I’ve seen him play when Inter had two advanced players and one holding, and he was one of the advanced players. Whether it’s a two or a one, he can play in that role, or from the side. But centrally, that’s where I see him playing. That’s why I’m looking to sign someone for the left wing.” - Rodgers

Lamela wants Spurs. Baldini used to work for Roma so its safe to say he's been convincing Lamela to join them imho.

I said it a day or so ago - 60M and Real and he's off. I just hope we have a replacement in postion. That said .. are they really going to spend 150M !!?

If they sell Benzema and Di Maria then the could get the best part of 80M back.

IF we sell Suarez, we need a striker!

No we don't.

If we lose Suarez, we would still have Sturridge, Aspas and Borini all competing for 1 CF spot (although they can all play in other positions too, but CF is their best position). That's enough options: most teams who play with 1 striker don't need more than 2 or 3 senior strikers to get them through the season. Chelsea had only Torres and Ba last season, Real only Higuain and Benzema etc.

What we really need is players capable of producing goals and assists from the other 3 attacking positions: 2 wings and behind the striker. Right now to fill those 3 positions we only have 2 senior players: Coutinho and Suarez (and possibly Aspas if he is not needed as CF) plus the kids: Sterling, Ibe and Alberto. That's where we are short, attacking midfielders and wingers. We need at least 1 or 2 more senior players in these positions, or if Suarez leaves, at least 2 or 3.

Agree. Aspas helped Celta Vigo fend off relegation as a lone striker. Only Borini is a doubt I'd say as he hasn't lead the line much at the highest level. The only thing I'd add is that the attacking midfielders and wingers should ideally be proven match-winners. Those who can produce a goal or assist in crunch time.

Yarmolenko: "I'm not leaving. Liverpool? What Liverpool? I won't go anywhere before I win the title with Dinamo. It's my dream to be here".

Lets hope we look at Konoplyanka instead. Rodgers want a left winger

Yes, like I said before, Borini is a question mark. But the only position where he CAN succeed is at CF. He is clearly not a winger. But there is still hope he can be a good striker.

Yarmolenko is definitely a match-winner. I didn't see all that much of Konoplyanka, but when I saw him play for the national team, he looked more raw than Y. But some fans in Ukraine rate K higher than Y, not sure why.

Looks like he'll never leave Ukraine then. Dynamo Kiev are already 8 points behind Shakhtar Donetsk 6 games into the season. This despite their spending spree and Shakhtar's lost of key players. They finished last season in 3rd place with 17 fewer points.

Yeah that's obviously why I called him a bellend. Look at the part of the sentence I highlighted. He's being offhand about one of the biggest clubs in the world, you know, the one we all support on this forum.
Or he was asked about liverpool, he hadn't a clue we were linked to him (as we haven't made any bids), and asked the reporter what the fuck he was talking about in, you know, Russian. LOST IN TRANSLATION. NUANCE.

Pretty much.

I agree with Modo. I prefer a player who has loyalty and love for the club they play for rather than a cunt who says 'My dream is to play for Liverpool....I mean Spurs....I mean Chelsea...'
CO*willian*UGH

Its up to us to woo him and make him fall in love with us, not up to his agent to sniff the cash.

What's with the caps rage? Are you having a bad day? Maybe it was lost in translation. I'm so, so sorry. God forbid I upset the Yarmolenko fan club.

Do all you girls fighting not realise that Yarmolenko doesn't have a twitter account.
Those were not his comments🙄

If we're signing someone for the left-wing, it'll likely be someone who's predominantly right-footed.
