Surely you can buy an extra team without being VIP? I did to allow me to join this league. It's only costing me just over a pound a month for a six-month period. If I sign up for longer at the end of that time it'll be even cheaper.

One of my mates from work (hes a new addition to the SCM Premier League) had the same problem so signed up for the VIP trial. It cost him 10p for a month and he signed up for the SCM Champions League. He's going to ditch the VIP after that I think.

Alternatively, you could get your Xpert rating up to 100 which grants you an extra private league team.

As far as I'm aware the easiest way to do this is to just do shit loads of press releases.

I'm thinking that perhaps we should just play a regular league format for a season so the noobs can get up to speed. Any thoughts? There is a lot of kicking about with no games if you go out of the CL at the group stage. It is a pity that there isn't a secondary cup or shield the non qualifiers can play for.

It's a good idea. The new ones need to build up that experience. Opinions?
 
Haha. If we do the CL format, then all teams will be in groups of 4, and the top 2 teams go through to the QFs. It means that all the bottom teams are kicking their heels for a few weeks as the QFs, SFs and final is played, which might be a frustrating way to start the league. I'd suggest two leagues of 7 if we go with the current crop.
 
Right new season is about to be started. First game will be Wednesday 2nd October as requested.

Also, massive thanks to Doc for his recent efforts in drumming up some further interest!
