Liverpool are looking into the possibility of loaning Inter Milan forward Mauro Zarate, according to The National.

However, for any deal to happen, Inter would have to release Zarate back to his parent club Lazio because the 24-year-old is currently on a temporary contract at the San Siro until June.

Liverpool are looking into possible replacements for Luis Suarez who is in the midst of his eight-match ban from the FA.

Zarate, who spent time on loan at Birmingham City in 2008, could be the answer with his similar direct style of play.

Not exactly a goal-scorer, but he's got bags of talent.

A loan deal with a the view to a transfer would be perfect.

Yeah, he and Suarez wil combine well. Suarez will give the finger, and Zarate the fascist salute.

That's the spirit.

Alright alright, I didnt read it. But saw on another site that Lazio had no intention of recalling him. Strange article really.

It's not though, is it.

As others have said, against City we may have had all the possession, but we weren't creating chance after chance. The idea that we just need a finisher is pretty flawed if you ask me.

Though it is also the case that we have created (with City) more chances than any other team. We've squandered more of those than anybody else.

against city we needed not to throw the fucking ball in our own net early doors and while leaving our best players on the fucking bench.

Cracking little player. Bags of talent. Nutter though.

Be interesting to see how this turns out. Any truth in this at all?

Imagine a player who goes to the media before playing against us and says - fuck Steven Gerrard and fuck all that he's done for lfc, I'm a better player and i'll prove it against Liverpool.

And when the game is played, that player does sweet fuck all.

That's the kind of player and person Zarate is.

He's never once backed up his big mouth on the pitch.

I think he would be a good option on the right side of a front 3 as and alternative to Kuyt.

He's left footed unless you want him to cut in?

Inter boss Claudio Ranieri used his pre-match media conference ahead of the Parma game to confirm that Mauro Zarate and Wesley Sneijder will stay at the club.

Zarate, on loan from Lazio, has been linked with a quick return to the capital, while Sneijder is again being paired with Manchester United.

Zarate is our player and I rate him very highly, even if now and again his brain stops and he needs a shock,” the tactician noted.

“Sneijder belongs to Inter too and he’ll stay with us.”

Weird, when he was on loan at brum I thought I remembered him scoring a free kick off his left.
