    The Firmino Holgate incident.

Holgate should be in hot water here regardless of any allegations. Not only was his push on Firmino very reckless, but he then put his hands on the referee (which seems to have been glossed over a bit).

    Coutinho gone. 142m

The club took a tough stance and gave themselves a few months to change his mind, but it was obviously already made up. Well done Liverpool for not immediately bending over in summer and for getting an acceptable fee now. Well done Coutinho for putting in a good shift this year once he'd...

    Since Klopp took charge

What a silly thread. Since Klopp took over, the price of your average clogger has gone up 100%+ There's not a single name on that sold list I disagree with (including Coutinho), when you look at the fees for Benteke, Ibe, Allen, Sakho, Coutinho; that's excellent business on the club's...

    January Window Speculation

Karius came in in summer '16, six months after Mignolet was handed a new contract. Since the Karius transfer, the club/Klopp have had a further two windows to address that area but all that it has amounted to is keeping Ward this year and swapping keepers in and out. It's hard to see who he...

    January Window Speculation

Or offering an improved six-year deal to Karius! I don't think we have any interest in a new keeper at this point.

Miguel Delaney in the Independent is linking us with Oblak (or Allison (or Butland)).

    Poll Ragnar Klavan.... Praise?

He needs to show a bit more leadership first. Maybe if he could step in and defend Salah from questions about his future move to Real Madrid, I could then get on board with this.

    Poll Ragnar Klavan.... Praise?

I think Klavan is doing OK. The fact that he has managed 40 appearances to this point does highlight some of the issues we've had at the back with regards to injuries, (first choice) Matip has only made 49. As third/fourth choice he's done well, he's just been called upon to be first choice...

Well rotation seems to be working great

At the risk of incurring the wrath of Raz, I can see the justification for the need to rotate through this period. We've just come through a a busy run of games and Brighton kicks off another six games in 19 days. It is frustrating seeing the top players sat on the bench, but it does seem...

    Venables goes back to prison

With regards to rehab, what to do etc. This is and always will be a taboo crime (for very good reason), that makes it very difficult to address in my view as I think the best route is to get rehabilitation and support to these people before they offend, but that demands minds open enough to...

    Venables goes back to prison

Video games and violent movies etc. are always trotted out, especially after American school shootings. The material itself doesn't create the offenders, but it is material that likely offenders will often seek out. I don't think we hear it as much now though, like you say, maybe people are...

    Henderson as DM and captain

Henderson is in the same boat as Sturridge, injury-prone and still living off the charge to 2nd place. His form was brilliant in the last 10-15 games of that season, but he hasn't hit that form again nor has he been fit enough to play a regular role. Our whole midfield is maddeningly inconsistent.

    The next two windows

Even if we do bring in X, Y, Z player, it will do no good if we cannot find a way to shed this fragile, heads down and surrender mentally that has dogged the first team and the club in general for a few years now. The team needs a new 'spine', mentally. In my opinion, that starts with...

    Wolfsburg want to keep Origi

We are not going to be in a position to give any striker that, unless they are Brazilian with brilliant-white teeth.

    Wolfsburg want to keep Origi

I'd still like to keep him personally. He's something like a 1 in 3/4 striker judged on his Liverpool form, which is quite impressive given his age and the transitional period the club was/is in for some of that time. Physically he has the tools too. Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk

    In our defence

It is important to make the distinction between our home and away form. The difference between the two is quite stark, with not only more goals conceded but more goals scored away from home. It's not good enough whichever way you slice it, but maybe the key to unravelling some of this mess...

    Robertson

I don't think it's an issue with Robertson per se, it's the fact that Moreno has managed to establish himself as first choice after a year out in the cold and being on the verge of moving on. While it is true that Robertson has looked good in his couple of appearances; Moreno's deserved it...

    Players getting robbed

It depends on your definition, but if he didn't shift any of the smouldering piles of ash, then I'd say that's technically still not robbing. Good job, Sean.

    Players getting robbed

You really should be keeping this to yourself, while at the same time setting up a business that offers house-sitting for multi-millionaire footballers.

    Realistic goals

Top four is still possible, but the reality is that this slide doesn't have to go on for that much longer before it starts to look remote. There's a lot of teams competing for fourth again this year, it's a shame we look to be playing catch up again the year after we had supposedly caught up.

1/4 of the way through - or thereabouts

We do, but it's hard to expect that when it's been largely absent this season. It's starting to look like pressing less is a conscious choice. Besides, even when we do press well we are still leaky and susceptible to counter attacks, the defence needs more protection.

    Dressing room morale

The problems with the defence have gone on so long now (pre-Klopp for a lot of them), that it hands a psychological disadvantage to our back five. Fans and pundits expect fuck-ups from them in every game and 95% of the time they are delivering, while it's a real surprise when they put in a good...

1/4 of the way through - or thereabouts

As you say, something has to give. I think you can chuck whomever you like into that back five, but realistically; only a change in system will get us through to January without further major embarrassment. Unfortunately, none of our midfielders look like they have the discipline to sit bar...

Coutinho wide left again, Milner, Can and Henderson to 'entertain' us in the middle. Lallana needs to get fit pronto.

    Sloppy Souness

A couple of huge misses in hindsight, but Souness' reasons for rejecting both seem sound given the circumstances at the time.

What does Klopp do between now and Jan?

We've a very significant absentee out now, I sincerely hope Lallana can effect some positive change when he's back in the midfield.
