Why are English supporters the most pitiful in world football?

Ryan probably means style wise and he'd have a point.

Some of them are like this dickhead though

French hooligans are being blamed for starting the trouble by attacking both NI and Polish fans, who were drinking together.

Twitter reckons some English dude has been shoved under a train in the underground and killed

There's other stuff about uefa threatening to call the whole tournament off if it doesn't stop.

It's all a bit ridiculous

Funny how this sort of thing kicks off in France all the time. It's like they are ready to pick on English supporters knowing they will get this sort of reaction from them. I think the bottom line here is that when the England team play - it turns into a massive piss-up festival for a lot of supporters and therefore you will always get this sort of thing taking place. Does not help that the game is taking place in an area of France where there is a high immigrant population who probably carry a big chip on their shoulders and are looking for trouble. Sorry if it offends anyone but this is probably an accurate analysis as you will get on this question.

If those were Britain First Supporters, they are notorious for being dim witted. Probably heard large Muslim population in Marseille, they all must be IS, and thought they could fight them.

It's a combination of things.

The Brits like to drink - it's one big booze up with the lads.
Mob mentality/There's more England fans there than anyone else.
Most of them are a bunch of cunts.

Having said that, I bet the Russian fans were no angels tonight. They're freakishly patriotic and known for violence.

A little unfair. There's as worse as them out there. Dutch, Germans, Italians, French...

Pretty much everyone bar the scots, the welsh and the best behaved of all - the irish.

There are 3 types of fan -

Those that go looking for trouble
Those that don't but will kick off when provoked
Those that try to avoid all of it.

I've experienced it to a minor extent over here with A-League fans.

If you know there are French Ultras around, know that there are mad Russians around and know that French Police will pull out the tear gas and batons at the first sign of any trouble - then why would you go anywhere near it.

You just know there's some idiot baiting ultras or Russians on social media about coming down and taking on England - they've made themselves a target.

There are plenty of fans that love to get on it and party, but don't get involved in the trouble.

I also don't go along with this "it wasn't our fault" nonsense - you're out acting like c**ts - of course you're going to attract trouble.

Granted, the scenes inside the stadium seem to be different - but I wonder if that's because the majority of the trouble caused outside was by people not going to the game.

Playing a high risk game with a late kick off is also incompetent by UEFA. You're allowing both set of fans to booze up the entire day before going into the stadium.

3 Norwegian lads were at the game and said there were no security checks before entering.
Very poor planning and set up from UEFA and the French.

I suspect part of the problem is that a significant section of Ingerlund fans just aren't used to travelling to support their team.

If travelling England fans were composed mainly of fans of the top Premier League teams, I doubt there'd be as much trouble.

Because many fans of the big league clubs have learnt how to cope abroad, they know what they can and can't get away with, and they just get on with it. But a fair proportion of those fans either don't follow England or have already had their wallets emptied by the Premier League.

Whereas loads of England fans hardly ever go to big games except internationals, and usually only to home internationals. Tournaments are their two-yearly jolly-ups. They're the sort who have clubs like Colchester, MK Dons and Torquay as their local clubs, they go and get tanked up in these foreign towns, aren't at all prepared for being pushed around by police with tear gas and tasers, and are also astoundingly stupid.
