Took quite a few Garda flights round Indonesia and didn't find them that bad.
Swore a few years ago that I'd never fly Malaysian again after seeing a plane go past at the same altitude a few hundred feet off our wingtip. I actually wrote and complained about it and they replied back basically saying "the law states there has to be a mile between planes so you didn't see what you thought you saw, it must've been the curvature of the window distorting your vision"
Muthafuckas I know what a mile looks like and this was a few hundred feet.
Did end up flying with them again a few years later, to KL and back, and they were shit then and all. Food was shit, seats were shit, entertainment was shit. I don't think I'd go with anyone like that for long haul again. Short haul wise, I didn't find Garda any worse than Air Asia or any of the other budget operators
