No, not a typo.

So Mo has the yips, and surely given he's not competing for any individual records there is no real reason for him to keep on pens. Who do we think is next in line?

We have a penalty specialist at DM in Fabs. We also have some attckers who appear to be ice cold from the spot in Nunez & Gakpo. Neither are certain starters though.

Interested to see thoughts - leaving Mo in the list for those who think he should keep duties.

Milner not in the list as he should be taker when on the pitch, but ideally that is only final 10-15 of games going forwards.

Edit: adding some stats

Salah - 30 scored, 7 missed
Fabinho - 24 scored, 1 missed
Nunez - 11 scored, 0 missed
Gapko - 3 scored, 1 missed
Trent - 4 scored, 0 missed

(stats from Transfermarkt)

Salah gets my vote of confidence for one more penalty. If he misses that one its over to Fabinho.
Hopefully we sign someone this summer that can take over the reigns as a specialist penalty taker.

Its Fabs for me. He always plays, so that helps consistency, and he's got a great record.

Milner when he's on the pitch....Bournemouth still baffles me...did Milner miss a few in a row to warrant being taken off pens?

Fab otherwise.

Fab otherwise.

I recall there being a game where Millie gave it to Mo as Mo was chasing the golden boot, and that order has remained ever since

Isn't Virgil pretty good at this?

Don't think there's much he's not good at tbh but a pen taker requires skillsets that only a few in each squad possess.

The only 2 that have that here are Milner and Fab.

Trent.
If not Nunez, but he seems to have trouble beating the keeper most of the time.

Salah’s going around the run up has always worried me and noticed it’s got wider and wider this season.

I think Nunez would be a sensible choice, might help with his confidence as well (like it did for Mo over the years). Fabinho seems to be too moody, even if his technique is good.

A confidence boost to Fabs could also be incredibly useful if it gives him some swag back in the middle. But I can see the Darwin argument too.

If Nunez takes them the keeper would be a fool to put any limb in the way ... it'd end up in the back of the net with the ball.

I chose Mo. He always plays and, despite the yips, has scored plenty over the past few seasons.

Barring that, I'd give it to Trent. Also always plays, has a good record, and a beautiful striker of the ball. Helps acknowledge his changing role in the team.

Anyone choosing Darwin needs their head examined. Although the keeper would never know where the ball is going, neither would Darwin.

Fabs is likely to break a hip and die any match now.

Didn't know he missed one in four. He can get to fuck with that record.

How many did he miss while fasting?

I picked Nunez because of the 1 pen he did in a shootout for us that was immaculately placed.

Plus it helps defending him easier at the end of the season
