They’re shit and could easily have lost against Fulham. 7-0 win, Salah, Mané and Jota to each bag 2. Robbo with a 94th minute tap in to get the 7th.

    I'd go:

    Adrian

    Trent
    Fab
    Gomez
    Robbo

    Gini
    Hendo

    Minamino (just ahead of those)

    Jota
    Mo
    Mane

van Dijk, Alisson and Tsimikas are the only ones confirmed out for tomorrow.

Thiago and Matip will be in contention if they train today.

I really hope Matip is fit for two reasons; one because he's fucking good and secondly because that Fabinho/Alcantara CM apex looked very sexy last week and it could develop into a Viera/Petit type of pairing in that they can be hugely effective with or without the ball.

While I would love that I imagine we will not see it too often this season with Virge out

Ross_from_Widnes, who does the Blood Red post match phone in, belligerently gets players' names wrong:-

    Andy Robinson
    Roberto Firminho
    Fabino
It tickles me how he gets each of those two Brazilian names wrong in exactly the opposite way

Last weekend he waxed eloquently about Dominic Calvert-Lewis

But his best one yet (hot on the tail of Calvert-Lewis, last weekend) was Thiago Alcatraz ....

Matip is a very good and component centre back. I actually prefer him to Gomez most of the time; but the reality is he can't be relied on to stay fit. I think we need to stick with the Gomez and Fabinho partnership for now and hope they strike up a good understanding fairly quickly.

The midfield 3 of Fab Hendo Thiago did look exciting at Everton and I'd love to see more of it, but we need Fabinho further back for the time being. Can't do the player any good either.

Oh he's unbelievably thick that lad.

How they picked him to do it every week is utterly beyond me.

Wouldnt rush Allison back for tbis or Midtylland, these are games we should be capable of winning with 1 or 2 players out. Id rather him not return til hes 100%, we cant afford a relapse

I would’ve thought the same thing about Villa. An early fuck up messes everything up.
