@Hansern
Happy to eat humble pie with this one... hope this is the start of a more focused, motivated defense ... and then we can climb up the table !
Yep definitely, that defence yesterday was so well organised, it's like we were proper drilled to do the right thing, no panicking when they were in our box etc, everything felt controlled.

Klopp says that coin throwing was wrong, club says any offenders will be banned for life if found

City on their fans.. They don't In Anyway condone their fans behaviour but can't be taken In isolation . Comments by klopp about city's unlimited funds and a breaking the bus windows from 5 years ago

So basically city are trying to pass the blame for their fan's onto us. No mention of city banning any of their fans for their scum behaviour. I suppose they really can't afford to ban any of their fans or they'd be no atmosphere there whatsoever though haven't they been pumping atmosphere into the ground

That's my biggest concern too.

Shown some very poor decision making since he's signed.

100%
- Decision making was donkey like
- 3 chances to Change the game and he picked wrong or selfish options
- Getting sent off
- Not understanding Klopp
- Not pressing

Good defending can be so aesthetically pleasing!

About 30 seconds into that compilation there's a clip of Haaland being crowded out in the box and tackled by Jota. That's the sort of thing we used to see from Mané and Salah, forwards getting back and making vital interventions in a defensive position. Not asking our left winger to be Maldini but those things add up and make a huge difference. Maybe it's tactical but I see alot less of that gut busting defensive play from Nunez and Diaz then we got from prime Mo, Bobby and Sadio. This isn't a team of artisans they need to graft too.

Giant tattoo of the word FAMILY on his chest in English. Doesnt speak a word of English

Donkey brain confirmed

Pretty sure he would fail to produce a certificate in any language to confirm that he doesn't have donkey brains.

Nah sorry Diaz is always busting a gut and tracking back - and he's damn good at it too ! I think Nunez has to learn how - for sure it wasn't necessary at Benfica where they dominated most games and he'd just stay up front/on the wing.

It's a great win but I am not sure many teams will make us defend so much, we dropped deep and you can see midfielders were under clear instructions to protect the flanks, something we didn't do alot of.

We didn't defend that much against Arsenal or United and we have had our defence exposed. So the jury is still out imo. Against West Ham we will see if we keep this tight defensive shape where midfielders help out on the flanks or our usual high line, little cover on the flanks tactics.

Jury is out because we did not buy any athletic midfielders over the summer, and therefore midfield cannot play their way out much against opposing pressing teams. So the defence have been exposed countless times this season.

We were challenging for everything just 6 months ago. You don't change all the midfielders, or even remove one of the mainstay over the summer. It's all hindsight. The midfielders all had a blip in their performances, arguably all of them, that much is clear. Whether it is short term or permanent, the coaching staff needs to know and adjust accordingly. We can't continue to stick to playing an expansive football when we know our midfielders don't have the legs for it. It's about playing it smart now instead of being stubborn with our approach. If we had lost to City, which was highly probable, it would have been a long hard road back. Now we have something to be optimistic about, let's hope Klopp and co can make the most pragmatic decisions to get us in a good stead when we hit Jan at least.

If they insist on letting Trent deal with 2 forwards on his own, we will be back to square 1.

This is what the whole “Trent cannot defend” debate has missed all season long.

Every man and their dog could see we needed a new centre midfielder in the summer, at least one. Nothing hindsight about it.

Yes, but the point is, if you look at the players we were actually linked to - not the ones Moron & Bluebell linked us to - which ones actually moved?

Calvin Phillips cost City over £40m - and he’s played, what, a minute in the EPL?
