See ya Dossy!!!

Napoli sporting director Riccardo Bigon has flown to Liverpool in an attempt to reel in Andrea Dossena.

Sky Sport Italia claim the Partenopei are still keen on landing the stopper who has been tipped to leave Anfield. Dossena has endured a tough time in Merseyside since joining them from Udinese, and Napoli are ready to offer him a quick exit.

The report suggests Bigon will speak with the player, who has been linked with Roma and a number of Spanish clubs, and offer him a deal. It's no secret Dossena wants to return to Italy. He also wants regular action, something which has been limited under Rafael Benitez.

Napoli had already spoken with the Italian in the summer, but talks broke down after the two sides were unable to agree on terms.

Another nightmare signing from Benitez. He really couldn't have done much worse with this one.

Lets hope this comes to something.

Dosser priced himself out of the deal with his wage demands last time they showed interest. Let's hope he's found some more sense from somewhere this time around.

any suggestion of the fee we are likely to recoup?

All managers make bad signings while others just dont work out for one reason or another but honestly some of Rafas are so painfully disasterous that you wonder what on earth he was thinking in the first place. I mean voronin was muck but he was free and it was a gamble on a position that needed cover, thats worth a punt in my opinion but Dossena was just a horror show from start to finish, so bad that even his now collectors item appearnces rarely come in his designated position, a total car crash of a signing.

He'll need a fucking strong rod

Arf. We'll probably recoup about £2-3 mil for him

Anybody know what his current wages are?
I'm guessing, but probably 40-50k

This could be the confidence booster that the players need to start turning our season around.
If we shift Voronin as well we might just win the title.

The word "around" seems particularly appropriate for this player.

wasn't given a fair crack of the whip. I refuse to believe he is worse than the hapless insua. if the reading winger had turned insua one more time he would have got to keep him.

Yes he was and put in abysmal performances time after time.

Insua isn't very good, but last season he proved himself to be more consistent than Dossena. We could do with selling all our LB's really, but Dossena has to be first to go.

I envisage him running around in training each day, whilst at the same time munching away on a packet of Jaffa cakes.

I'm just astounded that a professional footballer in todays game can actually be that fat.

For me this is one of the worst signings ever.

We sold a solid Riise for 4/5 M and bought a player who was the most expensive defender in our history to improve the left side of our defence.

2 years on we still have F8ck all at left back and will get fcuk all for him.

One signing I really could never understand.

He probably isn't really as fat as he looks. But he does like massive

Nonsense. Jaffa cakes just aren't that fattening. It must be cream cakes.

26 appearances last year is enough to judge.

Forget the 'fair crack of the whip' drivel. He's an awful footballer who shouldn't be anywhere near our club.

I wish it was Insua leaving to be honest.

At least Insua has a decent touch.

Selling Riise and replacing him with the shit with have is almost as bad as the Keane and Aquaman affair.

I didnt mention fair crack at the whip. I just asked a simple question.

Is that because you think hes rubbish or more rubbish than Dossena? for me Dossena is in the same bracket as Diao and Pennant in terms of absolute rage it conjured up to see them wearing a liverpool jersey

at least Insua has youth on his side, he has definately gone backwards in the last 6 months but besides Reina and Torres who hasnt?

When he first arrived I didn't think he was too bad and thought he might come good. He's not slow and has a decent cross on him.

However I think it was the Leeds game, when he looked the worst player on the pitch even in a team full of reserves and youths playing against a League One side, that really convinced me that he is a total lost cause.

I'd offer them both and 5m to Roma if we could get Riiise back to be honest. I think they're both poor defenders but for some reasons I prefer Dossena. Insua makes me kinda angry, he's like a Latino Byornbye.

Given the au revoir our Champions' League winning left back was afforded by some for having the audacity to score an own goal, I'd expect them to arrange a hit on Dossena.
