With the exception of Suarez, I can't think of a single player sold during Rodgers tenure who's of better "quality" compared to the players currently on the books. In my opinion, he's sold a lot of dross, but equally, he needs to bear the cross for bringing in well over 200m worth of players who haven't amounted to much.

There's a huge amount of talent in the squad just now. He's not getting that talent to make an impact yet - which is certainly his responsibility.

He's also without the head of the spear - how much of that is his fault is difficult to say right now.

Racist.

Daniel Sturridge is spending Christmas in America in a desperate bid to cure his injury nightmare at Liverpool.
The England striker - who has not played for Liverpool since August - flew to Boston today for the next stage of his rehabilitation from a thigh injury.
Previously Sturridge has spent time recovering in Los Angeles; this latest visit to Boston was arranged by Liverpool's medical team, with the club's head of performance Glen Driscoll accompanying him on the trip.
Sturridge will see experts used by the Boston Red Sox baseball team and will receive specialist treatment in the city in an attempt to speed his recovery.
Liverpool have been woefuly short of firepower in Sturridge's absence: Mario Balotelli, bought at a cost of £16million in the summer, has yet to score a Premier League goal, while Rickie Lambert, who arrived from Southampton, has failed to nail down a regular starting spot.

Raheem Sterling played up front in Liverpool's most recent game - the 3-0 defeat at Manchester United on Sunday - but Rodgers desperatley needs Sturridge to return as he seeks to breathe life into the club's season.
They currently lie 11th in the Premier League table - this is their worst start to a league season since 1964 - and face Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup quarter-finals this evening.

Not necessarily. If the report is correct, it says quite clearly that it was our medical team that arranged this. They obviously recognise a shortcoming in the treatment we can provide that the guys in Boston can address.

Surely our medical teams are better qualified in this area than a baseball medical team?

Our medical team hasnt covered itself in glory so far when it comes to keeping Sturridge fit so Im willing to give somebody else a shot

Slightly concerned he's having to be flown hither and thither to get over an injury but any port in a storm I guess.

Never thought I'd say this but I'm really missing his excruciating goal celebration.

It just seems strange, I'd understand if it's an American Football team, but surely this type of injury would rarely occur in baseball. Obviously they know what they're doing, it just seems odd.

Probably for the short paced sprints they do between the bases.

I wonder if we aren't over-complicating this. Sturridge's current injury status is proving difficult to improve, and FSG have another sports medicine team at their disposal in whom they have confidence. Strikes me as highly sensible that they'd use them to get, in effect, a free second opinion.

Yes, that's it. They're are pretty well off too, so I imagine they have a state of the art medical facility.

The players who run (and that's not all of them believe me) run short distances at high speed either in the outfield or from home plate or a base often having not moved for quite a while. From sitting in the dug out, standing on base or from a stationary position in the outfield they then need to explode across 90 feet or run for a fly ball in the field. Baseball medical people are used to this type of injury.

Fair enough, I'd assumed as it's all straight line running it would have been much less likely as I'd have thought the twisting and turning at high speed would be where most of these kind of injuries come from, it makes sense though, footballers are always moving so there muscles are always warm, whereas like you say, baseball players aren't.

Anyway i'm going miles off topic and S/O has summed this up perfectly, shit sport.

I have to be careful here... I know someone that will have first hand info on Studge and his injuries... he's fucked apparently.

Fucked how?

I was told ages ago that he was majorly crocked, like the club were seriously worried and he'd be out for an indefinite time, when he first got injured. But he signed a new contract and was "back training" since then so I chose not to believe it. Seems it's true, though. I haven't spoke to them in a while, so I'll see if I can find more info soon.

That seems a bit pie in the sky, will be interesting to see if they have any other info.

They did tell me exactly what was wrong, I just can't remember. And I'd love to be able to tell you what they do at the club as that would confirm that they're not chatting shite, but alas I cannot.
