hearing whispers that #LFC are in shock talks with Man C. over one of their want away players. Tevez?

I didn't want Bellers first time around, was actually reasonably satisfied with how he performed in the end, but agreed with the decision to let him go at a profit. This time I had no particular view either way about the signing. What do we know, eh?

As for that Citeh link - what's the betting that, IF there's anything in it, it turns out to be someone like Onuoha?

I have to say that I wasn't at all enamoured with Bellers resigning for us and I seem to recall that I predicted that he would be one of the ones that we would be trying to move on next summer a la Joe Cole the previous one.
I didn't think that he was anything special for us during his first spell with us and in fact was clearly a disruptive influence and there was nothing he had to offer us this time round.
I am very glad to admit that he has been an exemplary signing, always giving his all while on the pitch and being a great pro all round.
I like to think that some of this is down to the man management skills of Kenny but I am also very happy to say well done Craig.
He truly has been an excellent signing this time round.
That's not true at all though.

Obviously there was the Golf Club incident with Riise before the Barca game, but aside from that i don't recall anything that points to him being a disruptive influence.

The likes of Carra and Gerrard have always spoken very highly of him as a player and person. He's definitely a better player now though, been on fire for Man City and Cardiff in the last few years.

De Jong would be my guess. He's failed to agree a new contract and we're in need of a defensive midfielder.

De Jong scores great goals! ;)

He's a bit dirty though. I don't like us signing players who turn out to be an embarrassment. Souness was such a player - some of the things he did made me cringe.

So we are signing another player who played well against us? Just because he scored against us does not mean he will score again for us.

Souey "an embarrassment"? I don't think I've ever disagreed so strongly with anything you've written before. For one thing he was a superb player as well as - at times - a very nasty one. For another, our competitors at the time had such players too. Rightly or wrongly a lot more was let go than would be the case today. Had we not had Souey we'd have been the only team in the upper reaches without our own "enforcer" and would have missed out on at least some of the success we deserved.

For me Souness is one of the best ever to play for Liverpool. Didnt like him when he was manager though.

I think I mentioned this last night but can't remember among all the excitement. There was one stage last night, (about the 75th minute maybe) that it looked like he had to tell Henderson to keep on running down the wing for the overlap. Did anyone else notice this? It was as if Henderson would never of thought of it on his own accord.
That was Kuyt was it not?

Anyway, as for Bellamy, cult hero status now. Can't help but love to the little man. he's got better with age, no doubt about that.

His all round game is much better compared to when he was with us the first time(still shouldn't have been sold tho).
It could of been Kuyt! At least someone knows what I'm talking about though.

I agree Souness was arguably the best midfielder LFC have ever had apart from Gerrard. However some of the things he did to opponents were quite evil and he had the ability to do it when the ref wasn't looking! Nowadays he would have fallen foul of FA video reviews.

Completely agree. Souness remains our best ever captain and was an absolutely magnificent midfielder.

Not bad for an "ageing freebie"
HAH!

That must be aimed in my direction. Bellamy is a great player and our best acquisition of the summer but he is ageing and he was a freebie. It would be great if we could get even three years of him making the kind of contribution he's making this year.

I was doing the same thing! Andy probably texted dozens of us! ;D

He should never have been off-loaded first time round, never given a decent chance by Rafa, if I was Bellers I would have taken a golf club to Riise, they were meant to be in Portugal on a bonding exercise and the miserable ginger bastard would not take part in the Karaoke , they should have offloaded him and not Bellers if there were issues. I suspect Bellers saw his arse because he cares.

I think I witnessed one of the finest MOM performances I have seen in many years last night, it had everything,

regards

Looking forward to your explanation for why we should have sold Pacheco instead of Reira, when Reira punched him. s

Pacheco didn't pass when he was asked so Reira was perfectly entitled to punch him...
