Del Potro wins in 5 set classic. Great match. Well deserved win for Juan.

Del Potro edges out Federer to win his first grand slam. Amazing performance. Federer served poorly throughout and failed to take advantage when he had his man on the ropes but Del Potro rallied brilliantly. I've never seen a forehand hit so hard. Pity Federer collapsed in the final set as I think the match deserved to have a grand slam finish. Great match all the same.

Del Potro reminds me of Safin when he came on to the seen. I hope he is mentally more focused than Safin....he can go on and get more than just a couple of slams.
