Not only does the league have the worst referees in Europe, but when you get poor referees to step in as full time VAR this is what happens:

'VAR forgot to draw lines for Brentford's offside goal'

The Daily Mail is reporting that VAR Lee Mason 'forgot' to draw offside lines on Brentford’s offside equalising goal against Arsenal.
PGMOL representative Chris Foy, who according to the Mail was in the VAR Match Centre at Stockley Park on Saturday, told the newspaper: "VAR was looking to see if there was an offside and whether Ethan Pinnock had blocked off Gabriel in the build-up. He looked at the possible foul and decided there hadn’t been one and therefore referee Peter Bankes hadn’t made a clear and obvious error.
‘However, in the build-up to the goal, Christian Norgaard — whose cross Toney heads in — is in an offside position.
‘However, the truth is that VAR didn’t fully investigate with the lines. The lines, simply, didn’t go down.
"And that counts as human error. Had the lines gone down the goal would have been disallowed for offside."

'Mason, who retired from refereeing to become a full-time VAR in 2021, was briefly relieved of his duties by the Premier League earlier this season following two decisions which were ruled to be incorrect by a review panel.
'The first was to rule out a Newcastle winner against Crystal Palace in September and the following day he also wrongly disallowed a Gabriel Martinelli goal for Arsenal at Manchester United.'

Its quite insane that in a league with so much money that they cant seem to spend just a bit on educating referees into professionals.

Unbelievable - no wonder VAR gets a bad rap. It's not the system it's the implementation, a simple flow chart with boxes they have to tick off would stop some of this shite. PGMOL need to be dragged across hot coals and Mason sent into full retirement.

Its what happened when Pickford assaulted Virgil. They were so busy checking to see if Virgil had been offside, they "forgot" to check the challenge

Cant they just use the world cup technology where folks did not have to draw lines and it was the camera which did everything.

And to think Keith Hackett and co. we’re going two-footed into the referee of the England-France match in Qatar
