Spurs are in talks with him, I'd like to have thought we'd have been in for him.

He may be a bell end but he's a very talented bell end who'd improve our team. Shouldn't cost the Earth, either.

I don't think we'll be interested.

Whoever signs him will find themselves in a similar situation to City in a year or two.

I said 'Shouldn't cost the earth' had no idea he was earning £170k per week at City.

Really? Its got to be one of the most published wages in Premiership history, and is flagged in virtually every single article written about him for the last 2 seasons...

Adebayor's a bell end but he's also a great striker when he's in the mood. My guess is he'll be in the mood for Spurs, at least for a season anyway. I'd have preferred him not to go to Spurs as I think this is a very good signing for them.

Fucking hell, I thought this was the same thread that I called the shite head wank stain all kinds of terrible things and made it clear that I wanted the puke-inducing cunt boil nowhere near this club.

I was wrong.

It's a new one.

He's on 160k week apperantly. How the hell are Spurs going to do that, they cant even afford half that.

City will pay about £100,000 of Adebayor’s £175,000-a-week wages as well as the image rights which make up 10 per cent of his salary package.

Spurs, who have paid a £2m loan fee, have an option to buy him outright for £12m at the end of the season.

Spurs are fantastic at strengthening the areas they don't need to strengthen.

I think they could do with a striker and then offload a few. Adebayor is a step up from anything they've got. He might be a fuckhead but he's quality and will give them much needed hold up play AND pace.

He will play great until he gets a permanent contract there and then revert back to being a total prick again hes the new Anelka.

Its a good move for spurs they desperately need some fire power upfront but I cant see how they can afford to bring him in without smashing their wage structure? Are city picking up the majority of his wages still?

Modric making way possibly?

Spurs have never had a top tier striker, they could do with one.

Adebayor is a fucking idiot ... he showed his true self when he celebrated the way he did when scoring against Arsenal.

Nasri is no better ... top player but thinks he is bigger and better than he really is ... for someone who hasn't done much at the top level he sure has one hell of an ego on him ... and also he's one of the main reasons the France national team has had a disruptive few years.

Basically they managed to offload Keane, for one year of Adebayor at pretty much the same cost. If Adebayor goes mental they walk away, if he does well they pick him up for about half what he could be worth.

Good deal for Spurs.

I suspect Modric will be a Chelsea player by the end of the window, but I don't think that'll persuade Levy to destroy his wage structure by paying Adebayor a full hundred thou a week more than anybody else. My guess is the deal will be allowed to fold unless either Adebayor agrees to a wage cut (yeah right) or City do agree to cover the lion's share of those wages.

Yeah, its a great one year deal. But they wont be able to buy him unless they do something with their wage structure or he takes a 60% pay cut.

He'll improve them this season though, no doubt about that. Good signing.

City will habe to subsidise his wages for whatever term is left on his current deal, something might be possible but Spurs are in a tricky situation. They really need Crouch and Defoe to show they aren't finished being effective.

if they get adebayor they wont give a shit about crouch.

They have fuck all room for deadwood, they can't afford to have strikers earning 70k a week and scoring 4 league goals. They'll still care.

well, they have two weeks to get rid.

Bought Keane for 15 mill and sold him for 3,5 is also a great piece of business by the "dealer-wheeler". Triifffic!!

They bought hi for 12m according to our financial accounts. We dont come out of the deal looking all that clever either

£8m loss is better than a £8.5m loss, we win =D

But no, its one of our worst ever signings.

Last season all of their strikers combined scored less than ten league goals, or something equally absurd.

They could definitely do with a striker.

I cant understand Redknapp's MO of getting the bulk of his transfers done 1-2 weeks before the transfer window closes. Its like he doesnt plan and hope that a good player somehow lands on his lap.
