i don't understand this story . Why did he need to have some emotional 'bust up' with Rodgers ? . The club clearly want to sell him so why is anyone playing games .

There's a Reina mirror story in here. We should sell before he slips even further and we end up sending him on a loan + option deal which never seems to work out in our favour.
I find it odd that this is the main sport story for the Mirror. This type of story, for this type of player, usually only takes up a few column inches. Not the whole back page.

Fact is he just isn't good enough any more. Down to 4th in the pecking order there is no way he'll stay. Though thanks for the good times Danny - your love for LFC is genuine and we really appreciate that.
Yeah I know mate, it just fucks me off that for all this deep love of the club, you never hear him come out and say he's going to work hard to get back in the side, it's the same everytime - "If I'm not playing, I'm going".
Yes, if we were offered 12m for him we should not accept as it's way too much and morally unjust.
I find the whole thing very sad. He's not to everyone's taste as a defender but personally I've always liked him and appreciated his talent, and he's always loved the club and stuck by it when it needed him more than he needed it, so the amount of abuse he receives these days is pretty depressing. He's been a credit to this club in many ways and deserves to leave with respect rather than petty sneering.

I used to love the guy but he has moaned in the papers every time he's been out of the team since Hodgson days. To contrast that I can remember Skrtels thoughts after Rodgers dropped him - it's difficult to lose your place as a starter, I have a long contract here and I want to stay, I'll fight for my place.
He still has my respect but I don't think he handles his spells out of the team in a particularly dignified manner.
