Anfields new race shame...

I wish Dantes would post in the football threads.

Do you watch the games Dantes?

I used to watch all the games. Then there happened to be a game where john barnes scored a great goal if I recall correctly, but somehow gary pallister scored twice from a corner. That was the first time I felt physically sick and full of rage at our players. I turned off the tv, went upstairs to play fifa 96 on the playstation, or was it fifa 98. Anyway I beat the scum 20 - 0 or something on the easy setting with robbie fowler scoring about 10 goals. Since then I've been quite flexible about which games I watch.

Like the game yesterday, I missed it not for any unavoidable reason, but just cos I went to play football in the park instead. I've also switched my laptop to linux and have been too lazy to reinstall sopcast for other games. Now that you've mentioned it I'll try to watch the next once and post in the match thread.

nothing justifies racial abuse. NOTHING.
[/quote]

Of course Evra has a right to be treated with dignity as a human being and not be racially abused. But Dantes has a right to get closure and justice over the Suarez/Evra affair. If justice is denied, then I have a right to seek revenge. I don't mean a legal human right. But from my perspective the right for me to seek revenge is far far more important to me than the rights of the person who I'm going after.

You're only taking this position because it is racism. If Evra had instead been drunk at the wheel and ran over my friend. In that case you wouldn't dare tell me not to break both his legs because he had a "right to work". His rights go out the window the moment he infringes upon the rights of someone else.

spider-neil is amused you've referred to yourself in the 3rd person 🙂

hahaha I think brendan pointed that out years ago and claimed I was a nutjob. It amuses me that people who are not in my league analyse my writing, and think I do things which are symptoms of some mental disorder. Like they somehow are noticing things about me that I have not. Don't ever think you're capable of doing that. I notice more than you or brendan can imagine. The only reason I refer to myself in the 3rd person is simply to improve the phrasing of particular things in my post. Cos it sounds better or is more effective.

I'm not getting it. You don't racially abuse ANYONE. Ever. Nothing justifies it. Revenge is one thing, but resorting to racial abuse is crossing the line and lowers you to the same level as the guy who lied about it in the first place.

I think I can just about fathom Dantes.... correct me if I am wrong. He thinks that it is fair play to 'hire' a non fan to do the monkey on Evra because Evra deserves it so that Dantes can have closure for the sake of justice. Since that chap is really a non fan, getting banned for life is no big deal.

That guy is a racist. He was one last week, last month, last year. So saying not to racially abuse anyone also means that guy never gets caught now doesn't it. What we have with Evra is someone who has made a mockery of racism through his own pathetic story telling. So you put two and two together. Everybody wins.

Whether it's justified or not, it's a good outcome. What you are suggesting as being right is that (a) a racist remains as a fan of our club and is sitting in the stands next week, and (b) patrice evra gets away with inventing a story about racial abuse to get a player banned and tarnish his reputation. That's not a win is it. That's a limp pathetic defeat of the sort we bent over and accepted from Bolton.

Sorry Dantes, mere mortal like me can only understand para #1 but para#2 is completely incomprehensible!

Aahhh, the pseudo superior arrogance status; I used that myself back in my university days.

Still funny when done correctly ........ you're only just reaching the minimum requirements in terms of phraseology and the necessary sofistication to carry it off Dante.

That said, while your over complication of "two wrongs makes a right" is flawed at its premise you're nowhere near as far off in your moral positioning as some in here seem to think.

In a world of extremes the current "enlightened" society has managed to desensitise many areas of life while accentuating the sensitivities associated with others. Somehow we've managed to create an environment where someone walking in and brutally murdering a mother and two daughters is merely an item of news while an individual mocking another with a childish monkey imitation is the dominant news item for days.

I agree Wizardry, in large part I think we discuss the menial details of events surrounding racism because we don't want to talk about racism and want to excuse ourselves of it. It's a cultural catharsis.

That said, dantes is focused very much on the menial details of this particular racially charged incident, and believes he has got hold of an absolute truth about an affair we haven't much information about.

So it isn't really two wrongs make a right, it's one perceived wrong in Evra's actions (which he posits is wrong based on incomplete information) plus something that's unequivocally wrong (where he assumes the cardigan wearing welshman was making a crude racist act) make an unequivocal right. That's just silly.

And it's all with such earnestness. Look, when justice for you comes in the form of some fucking dolt wearing a hideous cardigan acting like a distant relative of man, it might not just be the ape that's retrogressive.

Apart from him underestimating how clever I am, I agree with Wizardry as well.

Fark, I've decided Evra lied the same way I decide which cards someone has at the poker table. If Evra went all-in on the claim he was telling the truth, I would call. Instantly. If you think I'm wrong to make that call, it's tough shit because you got knocked out of this game three weeks ago when "justice" ran its course.

Evra, Suarez, the cardigan. They've all had ample opportunity to attone and recieve the fair punishements they are due by law and by rights. By their own actions they have avoided that form of justice. So now, if Evra bitches or complains about this unfair wrong vengeful form of justice being inflicted upon him.... LOL. Fucking LOL. The fact you or Evra think it is unfair / abhorrent / wrong.... it just makes it all the sweeter. The fact you think I'm a bad person to do it or to condone it? Fucking more LOL.

Yea, I understand your convoluted logic, so there's no need to reiterate it. It just ends with a disgusting racist image and you looking at it in a satisfied way, thinking justice has been served.

That'd give me pause for thought. But I haven't totally lost it.

evra is the one who turned over the race card first. and he is about to reach out with glee and take all the chips. what do you want me to do? fuck that i will turn over three-of-kind race cards. its a disgusting hand to play, i know that and i dont agree with that hand. but this is poker and the chips are at stake.... so im gonna win them. and whatever people think. in my mind i can distinguish being happy with winning from being unhappy the hand i used to get the win was a bad one. evra sufferred a bad beat. serves him right for his own bad play

I think you should fold the extended analogy hand and realize you aren't winning anything, other than some perceptual of game of relevance only within your limited subjective brain.

Radio 5 had that Lord Ouseley on this morning and were debating the right of LFC fans to boo Evra.

To be honest, I had just arrived at work and it sounded like the usual hatchet job towards our fans - as usual Chelsea are getting of scot free here - so I switched it off before I imploded with rage.

Funnily enough, half these dickheads probably thought it was sound to boo Beckham for a season after the World Cup.

It was like, but anyway....

Id love to know if he has an opinion on the FA cancelling the handshakes at the QPR/Chelsea match on Saturday. To me that was a kick in the teeth to the Kick it Out campaign.

Strange that the media didn't catch up on the wanker gesture from Luis... they would probably advocate another 8 match ban or so?

Is it just wrong? By your own admission it also sounds worse as well as being less effective. In future you may wish to take greater care in your use of nonsensical qualifiers such as "just".

I explained earlier what I wanted. The post where I said the only thing eating away at my brain was the fact Evra got away with it. So now that he probably feels like he's been racially abused by 40,000 people, I know there is something worse eating away inside his brain and I can rest easy. Noone has got the one-up on dantes anymore. I'm back on top where I belong. That kind of thing is what I win inside my limited subjective brain.

For you however, not only has Evra conceptually raped you in your arse, now you've got a bunch of dicks on radio 5 and talksport queuing up for more. You're getting treated like shit, stepped all over, passed about like a helpless victim being fucked at will. But hey, at least you have your morals in tact.
