Haven't you sort of misread how our midfield plays? Jones doesn't play the side Gravy prefers (right), he plays on the left (totally nullified Palmer last time out in the PL) and in a 3 of Gravy, Mac and Jones, Jones wouldn't be in the pivot, he'd be replacing Szobo as the attacking 8. If you want to look at the benefit then look at the two penalties (!) he won and the goal he scored vs Chelsea then ask yourself when is the last time Szobo did anything like that.

For me it comes down to either being relatively conservative (Szobo) or adding more to the fluency of the attack (Jones). That said we should still look at their consistency and Szobo has been up and down like a yo-yo this season, not that Jones is the epitome of consistency himself but he does look after the ball much better than Szobo and has more creativity in and around the box.
I dont think I have misread at all, last season surely you remember what Gravenberch was like in the away fixture at Arsenal ? He was terrible on the right of midfield. If you think about it, again because Curtis played against Chelsea, Gravenberch had by his standards this season one of his quieter games. Gravy dont play that well with Curtis on the left. Its a problem that Slot needs to resolve. All I know is that I think Szob will make a massive difference with his running and covering ground ability against Arsenal. If Jones is gonna play then it will be as that number 10 at the expense of Mac10

Liverpool: Kelleher, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Jones, Robertson, Gravenberch, Alexander-Arnold.

Subs: Jaros, Davies, Gomez, Endo, Szoboszlai, Gakpo, Tsimikas, Quansah, Morton.

I hope Jones takes this opportunity to push on.

I have a feeling he's going to have another stormer.

Bukayo Saka starts and wears the captain's armband for Arsenal against Liverpool. Italy defender Riccardo Calafiori misses out while Mikel Merino and Jurrien Timber come into the starting XI.

Arsenal starting XI: Raya, Partey, White, Gabriel, Timber, Rice, Merino,Trossard, Saka, Martinelli, Havertz

Subs: Neto, Jesus, Kiwior, Zinchenko, Jorginho, Sterling, Lewis-Skelly, Nichols, Nwaneri

They're playing Partey RB (inverting into midfield no doubt).

Hopefully Diaz and Robbo (overlapping) cook them.

Nunez, Jones and Diaz need to target Partley. I'll be disappointed if we can't exploit him at RB.

Why are they acting like Arsenal have their entire squad out injured? They're missing two first team players from injury, guess what, so are we.

Unless I got everything all wrong, this should be a field day for MORON with Curtis Jones obtaining such a prominent position in the middle of the pitch.
