It's about holding your breath and trying to just hold on until the next administration comes in, and hope they are not as psychopathically narcissist
Though of course in 2 years we could be living in a nuclear wasteland.
 
I would have agreed a few weeks ago, but with Venezuela, and the talk around other countries, I get the impression he's fairly single minded and won't stop. He's looking to create a legacy, for better or for worse.

In reality what will any other country do?
Western values of 'rule of law' 'human rights' 'democracy' or whatever else the west claims sets us above the developing world has taken an absolute battering over the past 2 years.

Rolled out the carpet and gave the guy an audience with the King, full on state sponsored shebang. Alongside kissing his arse at any opportunity while claiming to value rule of law.
He knows no one will say anything, cos no one has really said that much this time round.
lines have been crossed and he does what he wants.

No one is going to war with the US, and No one is joining BRICS.


Every single person who was, rightly, claiming this guy is a dickhead is now kissing his arse hoping his gaze and ire doesn't land on them.
 
The problem is, the less that is done, the more I'll be pushed. I don't think anyone should be joining BRIC, but reducing dependency on the US has to be a priority, which will mean that closer to ties to BRIC and others will be necessary.

I dunno, maybe I'm overreacting, but it feels like the longer nothing is done, the worse it'll get.
 
Every thing he gets away with emboldens him to do the next thing, the thing that was unthinkable before the last shit he got away with.
Venezuela opens the door to Greenland.
Greenland opens the door to Canada.
Canada opens the door to a third term / monarch status.
Fuck knows what comes after that.
Congress needs to grow some balls and impeach the fuck out of him.

Today US (Alongside UK) have seized two Russian flagged ships.

Way to deescalate the situation.

I don't think it's an overreaction cos it's got worse and worse. Until someone stands up to US it'll continue they could conceivably try to take Greenland. Panama Canal was discussed previously and one to look out for, same with Iran.
 
I do recall people saying ten years ago that there were 'checks and balances' so nothing to go worry about while I was going on about fascism.
