So a pretty good gauge on this, and most things, is to ask yourself what you'd think of this guy if he played for someone else?
You wouldn't be excusing him, you wouldn't be comparing it to other incidents to write it off, you'd just think he was a fucking dick who had something seriously wrong with him.
There is. He's fucked. Stop jumping to immediate defence default, and take a step back. He has bitten men on a football pitch 3 times. That's not normal, that's the act of a complete fucking moron. Imagine your son/brother/mate did that on a football pitch for the third time, you'd be having a fucking word. You wouldn't be standing there talking about how there are worse thing happening in the world, or about Alfe Inge Haaland. You'd be standing there thinking, Christ I'm related to (or mates with) a fucking tool.
And I don't buy this "yeah but he's our nutter" shit either, cos that just opens you up to excusing practically anything, and more importantly it makes you look like a naive, ignorant fool. What level of abnormality does he have to get to for you to actually stop excusing him? Cos if biting men on 3 different occasions isn't it, then I'm lost as to what is. If he played for fucking any other side in the world, you'd be calling this exactly like it is.
*shrug*
I'm a huge fan of Balotelli and Zlatan just for the crazy shit they pull. I loved Richard Sherman's TV rant as well, and thought Machado chucking his bat at a guy at 3B was hilarious.
Maybe I just love sports for the controversy, and the exaggerated righteousness it produces. But as far as entertainment value goes, watching the media storm and misinformed zealots go at it regarding this situation is bar none the best.
