I guess we'll never know if Martinez would have been a better choice. It's a matter of opinions, and ours seem to differ.When Suarez left we failed to replace him. That's my point - whatever improvement they may be making this season has Stones at the heart of it, and there's zero guarantee that that improvement will survive his departure. In fact one could argue it's unlikely to do so given Martinez' overall record. I don't think we're anywhere near being able to say that Martinez would have been a better choice - on the contrary, my guess would be that he'd have performed similarly to Rodgers if he'd been appointed, because FSG were fishing in the wrong pool right from the off.
