Deserves its own thread, I think. They will weaponize this argument if they are allowed to – that pointing out that Newcastle and City have unlimited money is somehow racist. It's 100% bullshit, but you just know it's going to work in our media and society for some combination of reasons – specifically the ungodly amount of money that will be thrown in all directions in order to utterly distort every possible logic and reason and make MBS and Mansour the victims in this.

not sure the mancs nor newcastle want more focus on their owners and what they are up to.
certainly not newcastle!

The FA need to come out over this. Problem is, who do they punish? An unnamed source at city?

I feel like we're about to have politics style briefings to journos, muddying the waters and causing bigger problems

Why? Fit and proper test passed with flying colours. They can do what they like now

you think they won't mind?

I think they pay off enough journalists for this "potential xenophobia" to be completely accepted by the masses. They've already bumped the chants off the headlines

yes, i guess the free press is what remains on the fringes today

Well, we all know Klopp is a massive racist after his derogatory AFCON comments.

Henderson had a shit Acai bowl before the Arsenal game and clearly let know Gabriel know what he thinks about their beloved superfood.

A team of racists.

The chants were barely in the headlines to begin with (notable exception of the Guardian and one or two journos unofficially on Twitter) because the mostly racist press in the UK don't like to grass up their own.

What a joke. Go all in. Teams should not be owned by nations - get the geo politics out of the game. I'll be at the front of the line to start this organization.

Reported today that we are considering taking legal action against City for their comments about Klopp.

Love how Martin Samuel is defending City today
Oh found it. Jesus he's a full on city fanboy isn't he. Nunez is an 85m striker but haaland was bought on the cheap. Brings up mo's contract but ignores haaland's massive one. Ignores city's fake sponsorships. Mentions 85m (65m actually you twat) nunez on the bench but ignores the 100m player who they never used....
Thst article comes across as something that city paid him to write.

The only thing I'd say he probably got right is what the Newcastle lad said " there is no ceiling" was probably to do with what they can achieve and not what they can spend which probably klopp either was told wrong or read a headline misquoted what he said as I wouldnt think he'd have the time to bother reading full articles or meaningless press conferences of other clubs

This is a shameful attempt by City to try and cast themselves as the victims, it's transparent and pathetic.

I will say this though, the rivalry with City is very close to getting out if hand now. Their incendiary chants/grafitti and our side attacking their bases. The clubs need to take a step back and defuse this or someone is going to get badly hurt.
