Borini

Borini is probably a nice guy. But a good Liverpool player i think he will never be. And those who say he need a season will probably be excusing someone like Michu bout the difficult second season next year. We dont spend 12 pounds on the Borinis of the world.

Never has a username been so apt.

Don't go on about it then. The team isn't suffering at times because of limp muscles or nice manners, it's doing so because of incredibly stupid decisions.

Ah, I can accept stupidity (at times) but being thick and nice on the field is not acceptable.

He should get it operated on like Rugby players.

I've done both my shoulders twice playing Rugby.

As for on the pitch. Meh he put in a great amount of effort off the ball but he hadn't set the world alight. At the moment I'd see Downing a bigger loss than Borini.

Fabio Borini’s nightmare debut season at Liverpool has taken another demoralising turn following his dislocated shoulder as he may need a second operation on an injured foot.

The Italian striker only returned to action last month after a prolonged absence due to a broken bone in his right foot sustained last October.
He had been complaining he was still feeling discomfort following his comeback and was keen to undergo more surgery as soon as possible to enable him to be fit for this summer’s European Under-21 Championships in Israel.
Liverpool were monitoring the injury, hoping it would improve and at least allow Borini to complete the season.
The shoulder dislocation suffered against Swansea City on Sunday means Borini’s campaign is over anyway, which will enable him to seek a permanent cure for the earlier setback.
Borini had undergone surgery on the broken foot in Italy in October, overseas players regularly preferring to return to their own doctors abroad rather than using their club’s recommendations.

Just under two weeks ago, reports emerged in Italy that Fiorentina were looking at bringing Fabio Borini in during the summer transfer window. Calciomercato quoted journalist Mario Sconcerti as saying at the time "As I understand the deal to bring Borini to Florence is at an advanced stage."
Those claims were rubbished by the striker's agent after he was contacted by Firenzeviola.it soon afterwards, with Marco De Marchi saying "I have to be honest, I haven't been contacted recently by Fiorentina and I have no evidence to confirm the involvement of Viola.
"Fabio is happy to play for Liverpool, he is at one of the most renowned clubs in the world, has been chosen by the manager of the Reds early last summer - a sign that the club is focusing on Borini - and now the player is happy with his experience in the Premier League."
So it quickly looked like something to be immediately dismissed as pure speculation based loosely on the fact that Borini had just had a good game for the Italy U21 side. However, that doesn't now look to be the case.
Borini was injured at the weekend and looks likely to find it hard to play again this season, but that hasn't stopped Fiorentina's sporting director as confirming that he's interested in the player. Daniele Prade ruled out being able to get Osvaldo from Roma and said "Borini we like, but Liverpool is hard to deal", going on to explain that it would be hard to convince Liverpool to sell. Regardless of denials from Borini's agent, the interest from Fiorentina is certainly there, they're just not sure they'd be able to get Liverpool to part with the player.

i supect if they do make an offer it will be for a fraction of what we paid for him .

I wasn't claiming it was. I just find it a bit depressing he seems to know about all of these past problems and still took an expensive punt on him.

It's harsh on Borini given how the season has panned out for him but I too find myself questioning the wisdom of this transfer also.

As things stand we look to have better options both out wide and up front and he looks like the kind of player that needs an extended run to get going, which leaves both parties in a difficult position.

If he does stay at the club hopefully we'll see more from him.

Or perhaps we do. 😉

I played 5 a side footy a lot with a guy in his 40's that would dislocate his shoulder every time he'd shoulder charge someone. It was actually funny.
I think he might have finally had a surgery recently.

He's looked lively but ineffective. The Manager obviously sees something in him which the majority don't.

To date, his contribution has been meagre and I don't think we'll suffer from his absence, sorry to say.

I'd like to see him up and well but as for further appearences on the pitch?, I can be patient. He can take all the time he needs.

Shoulder charges in 5-a-side? The game you played in obv.wasn't particularly formally run . 😀

Borini deserves a fresh start. I don't get all the criticism. I mean 8 starts, come on!

Yeah yeah. Gve him a fresh start, and give him time. We seem to have plenty of the last as we are not supposed to be any good until the transition is over in... Some time.

He's our third choice striker, I think we can afford to give him some time.

If he was any good there wouldnt be need to bring in someone equally expensive) pushing him down the pecking order. But as I said, give him time.... Italians in our club have a good history of adjusting if they just have enough time.

Giving a 21 year old time to develop. Shocking thinking.
If players arent an instant success and score loads from the first game - we should kick them out.

By all means. Give him five years to develop. When you are given 30 million pounds to buy players for in your first season it makes sense that they all 8 months later should be spoken of as guys who needs time to develop.

If Borini needed time to develop, how on earth did he push Carroll straight out of the team and out of the club? That is not a guy that need time to develop. That is a guy brought in with huge aclaims that he he is trusted by the manager to perform and to deliver something. People don't demand the full product, but a small piece at least.

Either he is not good enough or it is a huge mistake by Rodgers spunking our money on someone that can develop when we need someone to deliver the goods.

Carroll was pushed out cause he wouldnt fit into the team Rodgers is building.
He's currently setting the world alight at West Ham.

I agree that the 10 mill spent on Borini could have been spent on a player ready to go from the start.
But now that he's here I'd rather give him time than kick him out.
There is a reason he's highely rated and a reason he scored 12-13 goals for Roma last season.
He's a good prospect and sadly hasnt shown that for us yet.

Carroll wasn´t allowed to fit in the team.

And him struggling in West Ham can have many reasons. He had settled at us and started to deliver. Major mistake by Rodgers letting him go. Again a bunch of people will not admit it was a mistake, cause Rodgers hardly has done one mistake since he came, but at least I have missed a plan B in quite a few games this season.
