Champions League Final

Supercup final should be fun...

Wonder what the likes fo Djed Spence and Ben Davies are thinking watching this.

Are they celebrating PSG winning the CL or that it’s the last game Rio is commenting before he’s quitting?

They have a great squad which made a big difference and the right signing in Dec window to energise the 2nd half, Enrique made the right key decisions to turn their slow CL League start.

Keeping Dembele fit for more than 15 minutes feels like their greatest achievement.

Two things.

1. They caught us at the perfect time this season when we had league, league cup final and champions league games happening and the legs went.

2. We could have been Inter in 05.

3. I'm incredibly drunk and also didn't watch the game.

He’s not even the best player in his team.
He's got an amazing record this season, not as good as Mo.'s. but visibility is everything with now the CL on top of domestic cups. He's deffo in a with a big chance.

Not sure if goals in France carry the same weight as those in La Liga, the PL and BL though. I know for example those in Portugal don't.

I'm glad PSG won. Obviously I don't like the oil connection that has helped them build that team but the way they play is delightful and they have some wonderful players. On top of that the emotional human element is undeniable and tear jerking.

I do feel we let this one get away though, not that we deserved to go through vs PSG but in the end we only lost on penalties despite playing well below our best. Timing is everything. Many said that the winner of that tie could go all the way and so it proved.

Possibly not… but his stats this season have absolutely exploded.

I would seriously pick both Doue and Kvaratskhelia over him - his stats were impressive in the domestic competitions, but in the CL other players mostly carried the team - players like Hakimi, for example. Dembele is good, but it doesn’t feel like he’s the Messi or Ronaldo of this PSG team - their success is collective in nature.

I’m far from convinced if we got through we’d have gotten past Villa or Arsenal or Inter in the final for that matter. I’m also not sure we’d have won the league if we went deep in the CL.

I wouldn’t change our season now. The league was perfect.

Had we had a champions league final we wouldn’t have thrown the last four games. You know those four games we couldn’t be arsed with and still had a ten point lead at the end.

I think we’d have been knackered and racked up the injuries had we gone deep and could well of ended up with nothing to show for the season.

Can’t you see the fact we didn’t show up when 12 points were up for grabs and STILL had a 10 point lead at the end. At the end we had a full squad to choose from.

Some minor tweaks throughout the season could’ve resulted in a treble.

We won enough games by 1 goal and had little injuries in the second half of the season to give me confidence that a deep CL run would have caused us a lot of problems.

That however is just supposition (as is the contrary view) and your standard 'woe is me' take. We'll never know but I don't think there is any way we would have lost the PL and the fact remains we could well have doubled up.
