Oyston's made a king-sized f'ckup of things, knows he has and is trying to cover his tracks.
Adam is now a safe bet to leave in the summer IMO. I wouldn't bet the bank on Holloway sticking around either, not after this.

people say that, but whatever his intentions, this looks like a decent outcome for blackpool & oyston to me. if he keeps them up - and that's not wildly unlikely - then it's made them millions of pounds.
if i'd been him my attitude would've been to keep him at all costs and let him leave in the summer. if they lose a couple of million on his fee but ultimately stay up then who fucking cares?

I see the overall strategy, but I don't think Oyston's approach was either honest or effective. He now has to hope that Adam can rouse himself to remain at the same standard, failing which his gamble is a good deal more likely to fail also. Far better to tell Adam that's what he had decided, in which case he might have got the kind of final season out of him that we got out of Alonso.

i agree that he looks like a complete clown, and he's made a laughing stock of the club, but at the end of the day blackpool are clearly better off, imo, than they would be without adam and £10m in the bank. by accident or design, that's all that *really* matters.
oh, and not sure i understand the alonso parallel - didn't we get a great season out of alonso by massively pissing him off? haven't blackpool just massively pissed off charlie adam? fired him up, maybe?

This whole thing was a mistake; which I think was exacerbatred when Oyston saw how much we were willing to pay for Carroll...I do have some wories thyat the Carrol transfer is going to be a bit of a weight around our necks in future dealings with other clubs, but we'll have to see what happens.
From their pont of view, keeping Adam is clearly the best solution, you're spot on about that.
Ganing an extra 3 or 4 million is nothing comparedto keeping your best player and staving off relegation.
I suppose there's some possibility that Adam will so pissed of that it's going to reflect in his performances, but thats unlikely for a professional...then again, Torres is a good example...on the other hand Alonso was fired up because he had a point to prove, and maybe Adam is not going to be so motivated considering the outcome of that is just more money for Blackpool if he goes in the summer.
