According to reports the mancs have bid £12 mil for Adams.
That would be because he's fat and really shit.
I think most of those who dont want him feel that way because we already have enough midfielders to play 1-9-0.
I'm just naming the players that played a few games for us last season:

Defenders at the club - Johnson, Kelly, Flanagan, Aurelio, Robinson Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Kyrgiakos, Wilson
Not heard many concrete rumours on any of them leaving. Kyrgiakos just signed a new contract. Possibly only Agger and Wilson will leave. And we're rumoured to be in for a centre back and a left back.
Total: 10-2 maybe to go, 2 to come in

Midfielders - Lucas, Spearing, Gerrard, Meireles, Henderson, Kuyt, Maxi, Cole, Pacheco, Poulsen
Rumours of Cole and Poulsen to leave, the rest will more than likely stay. Rumours of us been in for another couple of midfielders.
Total: 10 - 2 maybe to go, 2 maybe to come in

I may be missing a few out, but it looks like we're not as top heavy in midfield as you're suggesting.
Johnson (RB played at LB), Kelly (hopefully not injury prone), Flanagan (unproven fullback), Aurelio (hahaha), Robinson (unproven fullback) Carragher (aging), Skrtel (good, but useless without a good CB next to him), Agger (another hahaha), Kyrgiakos (we extended his contract?), Wilson (unproven CB played at LB which wasnta good idea).

I take your pointthat perhaps we do have enough cover in defense, even if it's a bit shit.

I just think we're a lot weaker at central defense than we are at midfield, so to look at getting in 2 midfielders when needs are greater elsewhere isnt wise.

You forgot Aquilani tho.

That makes 11 midfielders, 12 IF we get in Adam.

We're not signing him are we?

What do you think is his fav? Would he be a KFC man? I can imagine Chuck sitting down with a big family bucket of chicken watching his Taggart boxset. Grease all over the remote control and his face.

Disclaimer ; I don't think he's fat.
Yup thats the one mate, or if hes out on a date he goes roosters.
But before he picks the poor unfortunate victim of his lust up he'll have a massive kebab to make sure he can just eat like a gent in roosters.
Then a pizza when he gets home.

and a wank.

I actually want Adam. Oyston is a fucking bellend, but in the end I reckon wants to join us regardless. Spurs bid or not.

Adam clearly wants to join us mate, but if Blackpool aren't accepting our bid then he might just have to go there.

Could be either that, or risk a season in the Championship.

It's now become an even more difficult situation to get Adam away.

I think its more the fact that we wont his valuation mate. If Adam wants to join us, then the deal will happen imho.

Re: Re: Charlie Adam

We can all try and be optimistic av , and hopefully we'll see you again sooner rather than later. And next time I'll talk!

Re: Re: Charlie Adam

Just because my tongue got cut out by an irate venezuelan prostitute doesn't mean I can't talk

It means I struggle to enunciate

Re: Re: Charlie Adam

Oh good, I've got until never to learn to talk socially

Is anyone else slightly worried that we actually want this fella, who plays for a Championship club, yet we can't seem to wrap it up with minimal fuss?

It should be like taking sweets from a baby, but we're arsing about FAR too much.

Re: Re: Charlie Adam

If their chairman is being a dick then we should take our time. I'd rather that than be fleeced

We've this locked down.

Adam will jump at the chance to join anywhere, as we saw in January.

At the moment he'll be on about £15,000 a week and in the Championship. The poor sod.

The majority seem to be split on this, either you think hes a proper footballer who would thrive in a better team and reckon he could be a bargain in the long term or you dont see what all the fuss is about and quietly hope somebody else will sign him to stop us throwing away money on an average player we really dont need

Im in the 2nd group, think he has potential disaster written all over him, but Dalglish Redknapp and Ferguson are all in the first group 😱

I actually would love Adam, i think he's a very good player.

But it just makes no sense to get him in after spending 20 million on Henderson and there being no end to the Aquifanny saga.

Assuming there aren't any changes, bringing in Adam takes the number of first team midfielders to 12.

That's insane.

I wouldnt be too fussed if we missed out, personally I have a preference for more athletic midfielders in the centre and we've really only got Stevie who fits the bill in that respect, but he is losing that as he ages.

The other worry for me is Adam's legal action against Blackpool was a sign of pure greed, if he's that motivated by more money how is he going to react when he lands a big payday. Will he retain that motivation or will he be content to plod along?

welcome to 6CM hmmmmm1 🙂

Fair point but Adam is the only one I've seen sue for a 20k bonus for avoiding relegation after he received a bonus for getting promoted.

I think it's a bit more of a risk with him.
