No, that isn't "it". Everybody tries to get the best deal they can in transfer negotiations, but there are still right and wrong ways of going about it.
 
Torres has til 2013 I think? Double of what Adam has left at blackpool! Plus Torres is epl proven. You can't compare what we are doing to blackpool the same as Chelsea offering 35mil

The big fish eats the little fish, that's all this is. You can't simultaneously slag off the big fish for trying to eat us AND the little fish for not letting us eat it. Well, you can, but it's blatantly hypocritical.

Come on Bunny, we didn't tap up Adam and Holloway confirmed that.

The Chavs tapped up Torres at the WC and again now but it would hardly matter if we get the reported £48M for him. Money is a universal language and it talks.

You can't blame Blackpool for not wanting to sell Adam because he is their top player. However he only has 18 months left on his contract and Holloway made promises to let him go if we came in for him.

Because he didn't want to go (and that photo in the other thread strongly suggests that deep down he still doesn't), but the Chavs have made him an even higher wage offer and his agent has hustled him into accepting it.
 
I didn't know that. Either Chavski have offered him a truly stratospheric wage, or they haven't actually offered more than Citeh and Torres' agent has railroaded the whole thing through. Whichever, I'll bet that deep down Torres will be kicking himself for a long time.
 
Torres wants instant gratification. He has a shot at the Champs league now. He was not prepared to gamble on or wait on Citeh.

I think that's incredibly harsh on a guy who could be wearing our shirt next week. This is a player who has stated that he would love to join us, and have the chance of working with kenny.
It's not Charlie Adams that's driving the price up, he can do no more.
There's no doubt that he isn't Alonso quality, but what price can you put on players desperate to join us, who, on current form is one of the best midfielders in the league.
 
Charlie, its not harsh but a fact. Adam has been quality but they're greedy (a sentiment echoed by Adam Snr.) and want ridiculous money for a player with 18 months left oh his contract.

Roland, I should have put in bold the bit about " that pricks not worth 6 million" that's what I was getting at.

The rest I'm sure we all agree he's not worth the monies being talked about. It reminds me a bit of when MU signed Carrick for 16-18m....

Kenny obviously wants him, I think we have to trust him that he thinks this signing would ultimately improve us. Paying more than 10m for him is too much, however, similar to the Carrick deal, if we want Charlie"asda"ADAM then we are going to have to pay over the odds to have him.

I'm not following whats happening here at all so i'll say this

Carrick is overrated
