I know this is oft mentioned going into a summer but this time I really think we will. Arne looks like a geezer with a hard edge

Tsimikas, Queevin, JoeGo, Harvey, Lucho, Darwin, Jarrell and maybe even Jota could all go. Obviously add in Trent and that's maybe nine first teamers.

This will could be a radical summer!

Well only 2 of those are first teamers but even then I still think it's too much. It's not like we have a bunch of top class U21s banging on the door - that's empty too (unless Danns resurrects himself).

2 of our 4 CBs ?
3 of our 6 forwards (could be 4 if you include Chiesa) ?

Elliott and Kelleher, yeah both gone I think.

For sure players who will go
Kev,
Cheesy
Morton
Darwin
Kaide Gordon
Ramsey
Elliott
The rest will be based on what we can get and if they want to leave which include
Quansah,
Joe
Konate (if he doesn't sign he will be sold)
Jota
Diaz
Doak

bit soon for this thread surely.

only name that stands out there is diaz 3500 minutes on the pitch and 17 goals. i understand the reasons to move him on but those numbers need a real replacement.

not sure about the merits of moving on quansah as a 4th choice homegrown and mostly fit cb. depends how much the manager doesn’t fancy him and which replacements become available.

That last point is particularly important IMO. Improve wherever we can obv.but, even if particular players aren't tearing it up, let's not go making changes just for the sake of change if the player(s) coming in are no better.

Well if we’re about to spend 200m+ on Frimpong, Kerkez and Wirtz (& that’s before the likelihood of a new CB/DM), then you can be certain players will be sold to offset that, there are 7-8 players that could move….I suspect 4-5 will.

Darwin
Kelleher
Tsimikas
Chiesa
Elliott

Jota?
Morton?
Gomez? Kind of up to him, I imagine. I would keep him, but it is fitness dependent.
I would not be so quick to move Diaz, unless the offer is very good.
Quansah should be loaned out to see if he can become the quality we need.

Jones has been poor. I am not sure even sure he is better than Harvey / Endo. He was given a chance to stake his claim in the absense of Macca but his deficiencies have came to the forefront instead.

Szoboslai is on thin ice. He's really struggling to impose himself lately.

Jota is a shadow of himself when he is not finishing off chances. He has looked really mediocre.

We will miss Trent's passing from deep. We looked really devoid of any ideas up front. It's mostly hit and hope.

I could see us getting more for Jones than he is worth. Hope he tears it up for England.

Not sure why Gomez won’t be sold if given a chance? He is unavailable every season for what feels like 75%. We can’t carry anymore passengers, would be totally pointless to keep Gomez and similar to how we hung on to Ox for so many reasons.

Because of his versatility and the need to manage the transfer budget, not least if we're spaffing a major load on Florian Wirtz. JoeGo's injury record is a concern, but it's far from being the only factor involved.

I believe the main priority is to strengthen the squad, so players will be offloaded primarily to create space. The number of departures will likely depend on how many new signings come in. A secondary reason could be to generate funds to help cover signing fees for incoming players. Slot has mentioned a few times that the attacking line isn’t his main concern, as the team has managed to score in every game except one. So, maybe Jota or Nunez may make way for a new striker, I don’t see Lucho leaving. Yes, his goal ratio isn’t the highest, but he’s managed to score some crucial goals.

Think we have a big issue if the only reason we are keeping players due to quota and to limit churn. He has been hardly been available over last 4 seasons and same again next season

Slot seems to love Szoboslai, so he's not on thin ice at all. Jones is a decent squad player to have.

We are devoid of ideas, but thats' why we're getting wirtz for that creativity.

Each of these players could go but not all of them will.

Don’t think Quansah and Gomez will leave
Agree. And I doubt he'll go on loan either. The forum always over estimates the amount of movement there'll be and we are talking about a squad that just walked the PL.

We're already spending £200m on 3 players. If we have £100m plus sales we're already nearing that limit.

We have 4 CBs and ideally need 5, no way we bring in 2-3 CBs which means what we have stays.

We have 6 attackers. I can see Nunez and Jota leaving and one replacement CF.

No more midfielders after Wirtz.

Slot likes a smaller squad so I can see more leaving than joining.

So LB, RB, AM, GK and CF in. Maybe a youngster CB. Assuming Kerkez will get done that just leaves CF and youngster (s) to come.

Based on our quality of depth and how we finished, we need another CB as we really have quality cover outside Konate and Virgil. Konate seems off next year and Virgil a year older so would be good to bed a CB young cb this season as we did when brought him and often played him rotating with Matip. We can’t do what we did this season. Ofcourse another CF which looks we will get and move CB on probably 1 -2

Harvey is gone for sure I'd say.
Looked like a guy filled with mixed emotions yesterday

that’s sad if true, i doubt many would want it more than harvey. hopefully he goes on to make slot look silly.

kelleher also reiterating his desire to play regularly

led into saying that by the interviewer though, he doesn’t seem the type to force the discussion to be about his future. glad we’ve preempted all this with the georgian.

From what we've heard so far I'm not expecting a massive clearout, just a heavy upgrade on the departing players

Trent, Elliott, Kelleher and Nunez - that's 4 first team players gone for sure

Tsimikas, one of Gomez/Quansah, Chiesa I expect to leave as well, which makes it 6-7 departures (depending on if you view Chiesa as a football player or a mascot). I think that's it unless we don't sign Diaz to a new deal or get a good offer from Barcelona. I'd definitely keep fwiw

Konate will probably either sign a new contract or leave on a free next season. Endo has done enough to stay in the role he's had this season for one more year and I don't think anyone would pay us decent money for Jota these days so he might as well stay as a backup option

I’m hoping Saudi come in with stupidly big money for Jota…
There seems to be an assumption that the Saudi government backed clubs waive a cheque book and the player moves. I suspect there are a substantial number of players that will not entertain the idea of taking that money.

Not football money but I was approached to do the equivalent job to my own but in Ryadh for slightly more than double my current income but tax free and a 100% bonus also tax free. Didn't need to think about it - flat no.

I get that and similarly turned down a Saudi offer some years ago as it just wasn’t a move I was prepared to make.

At the very least, a significant offer from a Saudi side might flush out other European interest for Jota etc.
