almost a badge of honour to have palace give you grief, peak city often had problems with them also

For sure. And Glassner is a talented manager. Beat us1-0 under Klopp at the end. Nearly beat us in May. Beat us in August, we really are the underdog in this game based on recent results.

Recent History. 2 Wins Each, 3 draws.

Glassner - two wins, one loss one draw versus us. Pretty good.

Mind says a draw, 1-1.

But at the same time this is Palace without Eze.
They're unbeaten, but all of their opponents have been largely underwhelming this season.

Chelsea vs Crystal Palace 0-0

Crystal Palace vs Fredrikstad 1-0

Fredrikstad vs Crystal Palace 0-0

Crystal Palace vs Nottingham 1-1

Aston Villa vs Crystal Palace 0-3

Crystal Palace vs Sunderland 0-0

Crystal Palace vs Millwall 1-1

West Ham vs Crystal Palace 1-2

Wouldn't say that it's their first real test this season because they managed a draw away against Chelsea, but it was also the first game of the season.

We SHOULD be too good for them. Especially without Eze. But they have never been an easy game for us. Ever. And MG is going to be MOTM tomorrow, isn't he..?

What? Didnt we best them withe ease under Klopp? I remember that there were a few tough games but we usually got 3 points.

Also, I think Macca will be the one who plays a blinder. Just had a kid.

Slightly concerned with this one, bit of a bogey team and on a personal not cannot stand them.
Strongest team to win plays for me.

That's an interesting hate pick, is it based on something or just some good old irrational disdain? Because I'm the opposite, I quite like Palace for no real reason

The Klopp Years 14 Wins, 3 losses, 1 draw. - Good call Modo.
But we are not in Kansas anymore, so....

The Glassner Years - One win, two defeats, one draw for us..

You mean our 6 wins on the bounce and their 3 draws in 5 at home this season? We are not the underdogs, we clearly should win, doesn't mean we will but I hate this 'underdog' tag some people are labeling us with.

Dad was a red and mum a season ticket Brighton fan. No love lost between them, M23 derby.

I think we all bear the scars of that night at Selhurst Park under bridge. That was the exception and not the norm.

What night!!! I don’t know what your talking about!!!!

No scars here… definitely… no… no… no…. no… no… not!!!!

*rocks back and forth hugging himself, sobbing *

Why did you bring that up??? Whhhhyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!

I was one of them and I'm not, though I've been told that being a Scouser gives me honorary Irish status.

It depends on whether you like Tayto or not… and then what sort of “Irish” is dictated by which Tayto you prefer - Mexican Irish or “I’m not Irish” Irish.

One thing that should be in our favour is that Slot has seen how they line up and operate already this season. We don't need to do passive first half to gauge the opposition and then change tactics at HT. We are going in to this knowing exactly their set up and personnel. No excuses for not getting the tactics right.

Guéhi out to stop Reds after blocked move

The only unbeaten teams left this season meet at Selhurst Park. While Liverpool have a 100% record, Crystal Palace’s form has been notable for their sturdy defence. Oliver Glasner’s side have conceded just two goals in five games, with clean sheets against Chelsea, Aston Villa and Sunderland. Key to this setup is their captain, Marc Guéhi, who came very close to signing for Liverpool on transfer deadline day. The England centre-back was understood to be extremely unhappy after Palace blocked the move despite a £35m fee being agreed. Guéhi will now attempt to thwart the team he thought he was joining and who have scored in each of their last 39 league matches – a club record. Billy Munday

I think we'll need to start Isak and replace him with Chiesa around 60 minutes. That was Chiesa's first ~100 minutes of football in forever, and Isak didn't look like he had 90 minutes in him either. All of that means Gakpo is going to need to start, and we'll need him to buck his ideas up.

Other than that, we should be pretty fit and good to go. Hopefully, there's an element of revenge for that Charity Shield defeat.

So things different since Charity Sheild

We have gained Gravy & Isak into the squad, Wirtz has about 5 more games under his belt.
Palace have lost Eze and Sarr is coming back from a hamstring injury.

17 games unbeaten including two against us and beating City in the cup final. Draw looks like a good result

No, he isn't. His goal to put us ahead in the opener against Bournemouth was a cracker and he's more than good enough to help us out with the number of games we're going to have to play.

He's Ngog. Nice guy, may score the odd big goal and some nice moments, but ultimately won't be good enough to warrant more game time, and his career after us will be going downwards rather than up.

Sounds the same as Origi.

He's far, far better than N'gog ever was and both more skilful and more versatile than Origi (whom I loved, as I suspect most of us did). I don't expect him to become a first team regular, but winning squads need squaddies too and he's easily good enough for that role.
