De Gea

It's the euro champs next summer, its in both parties interests that a) he plays and b)excels.

I think this was a calculated move by Utd
I've heard navas was valued at £15m , de gea could easily be worth a Cl place and therefore well in excess of £14m over the coming season to Utd.

Romero is the real loser here...

40+ I would guess

It just depends on one thing: Van Gaal

Does he put his ego aside and let his best keeper player? Or does he show him who's boss - as he's done in the past to players who've rubbed him the wrong way - and keeps him on the bench?

Obviously, the easy answer is play him - he's a phenomenal keeper.

He was phenomenal last year. Lets see how this season pans out.

He'll sign for Real in January.

I couldnt care less if he plays against us. He wont be on the top of his game or focused.

Presumably they won't want him ineligible for the champions league. I agree they'll want him in January, but Rafa's picky about such things.

Depending on how the relationship between the two clubs develop, I can see him signing in January on a pre contract and move for free next summer if this isnt resolved.

He will make 2/3 saves (standard amount of shots we have in a game) as we loose and then scum will be hailed as geniuses for holding onto him.

I thought both United and RM had made an appeal to FIFA ? No ? Misread or misreported ?

There was certainly talk of such a move, but TalkSport's Spanish correspondent Graham Hunter (who's as big a prat as anyone on there but does seem to know his stuff) didn't think it was likely to succeed. Maybe the clubs have had similar advice and decided not to bother.

In the end I think RM never submitted any paper work for De Gea it wasn't just late.

A pyrrhic victory for Utd.

In the battle to claim to be the biggest swinging knob, both clubs just end up looking like knobs.

Well, well, well... it appears United will get a decent fee for him next summer after all, even accounting for the extra 150k he'll be getting in weekly wages.

It's a slippery slope when you're winning fuck all and can't keep your best players, he'll go and they'll start to feel our pain.

Cantona's return game after his Kung Fu kick was against us. Ferdinand (I nearly called him Rio there, *spits*) returned after his drug test scandal to also play us. At least we can blame sky for those two.

If I recall correctly Cantona's suspension ended on the Sunday. If Sky hadn't organised the change from Saturday he wouldn't have been available.

I could be wrong but I'm nearly sure Ferdinand's return game was moved to a Monday night to facilitate his return?? Silvestre got two headers against us.
