Diogo Jota - died in car crash RIP

I'm still numb, there is rumours out there that it was on a mountain road, but I'll leave the other details there until reported in the media.
On the Echo its reporting that it was a blown-out tyre - which is perfectly possible depending on how fast they were driving as well, I remember 3 weeks after I got married, wife was driving silly at 80mph in on one a dual carriage way and the tyre blew and the car went into a 180 degree spin - that was nearly the end of me had it been busy that day but luckily it was at 1pm-2pm when the roads were quiet.

Something about smaller players being great with their heading that I've always loved. Garcia took over from Fowler, and Jota took over from Garcia. Absolutely terrific at finding space in the box and guiding those headers into goal. Was also the most natural finisher at the club while he played. Very sad right now..

Gut wrenching horrible.

Imagine riding high
Top of your profession, married a few weeks ago, kids
so much to look forward to and all snuffed out within minutes.

Thoughts to Jotas wife, kids and family.

Very very sad. I've just seen his wedding photo (with wife and 3 young children, the wedding was 11 days ago). I won't put it here. Seeing it is just devastating. So sorry for this young family.

The "little guy good in the air" thing goes all the way back to Keegan, arguably even to Ian St.John before him.

Appreciate the motivation behind this, but TBH I've never been a fan of doing it. Far better IMO to hand it on and let it make new memories.
I understand and I agree to an extent, but we can maybe retire it for 20 years or something like that. It's not often these kind of things happen.
He was still wearing the shirt.

Just unbelievable. The last two months have been pretty devastating for me personally, having lost a colleague suddenly at 29 and my best mate who we buried on Monday. Now this, life's fucking shit at times like this. RIP Jota, thank you for the beautiful memories.
That’s brutal. RIP 🙁

Holy shit. I checked my phone during a meeting and i just sat there numb.

Feels impossible to process.

RIP Diogo, gone far too soon

Hoping things get better Mark and sorry to hear, esp with burying your best mate.
Felt in a mental spiral over the past few months and only way to get through it is the love of family and friends

Simply lost for words.

"Oh, he wears the number 20,
He will take us to victory,
And when he’s running down the left wing,
He’ll cut inside and score for LFC.
He’s a lad from Portugal,
Better than Figo don’t you know,
Oh, his name is Diogo!”

YNWA, RIP Diogo.🖤
