just want to kick off some debated with regards to the team I think will be our biggest rival for 4th place

I'm not mad about their defence (or ours for that matter), but I'd take their midfield over ours right now. There's not much in it up front for me.

Mainly their midfield, only Gerrard would make their starting XI in midfield.
We've got a better keeper.
Our defence and theirs are pretty much equal, the same goes with their attackers/strikers.

They've also got a bigger and better squad than us.

I'm biased but I call it as I see it.
 
I think it's close but our strikers are better than theirs, I think they have better midfielders than we do and better defenders but we have better fullbacks. it's close.

better centre backs
if we're talking about a better defensive unit with the centre backs and the fullbacks together then I would say spurs have a better defensive unit as they require less protection from midfield.

I voted no BTW. Adebayor, Defoe, pav, are as good as ours. Their midfield is not even comparable to ours. Their defence is underrated,Dawson,king,hallway,Kabul would all improve our CBS.full backs are equal.

Reina shits all over Friedel and Gomes though.

I think the teams are pretty evenly matched tbh. Their defence isnt better than ours, and I dont think the strikers are either. They're probably stronger than us in midfield at the moment.

So, if the return fixture was in May and we were 10th, how much bearing would it have on the race for 4th if we murdered Spurs then ?

*If* Spurs are our rivals for 4th, taking 3 points off them is relevant pretty much any time we're still in contention for the top 4.

I understood the original post I was just saying that the head to head was coming too early to make a difference, I wasn't disagreeing about finishing above them.

Downing would play down the right for them. Harry's tried to sign him before.

Kaboul and Dawson can be got at. Kaboul especially. King's good, can't deny that but he's obv very injury prone as well.

Walker might be good going forward but he's not great defensively, where the fuck was he today when Song raided down his side for Arsenal's goal. Assou-Ekotto looks quality one week, shite the next. Not a consistent performer by any means.
