Do You Follow Any Other Team?

Well?

I used to keep an eye out for a few, including Fulham, as they are my old man's team. But, as I grew up, I came to realise my old man was a bit of a cunt, so was secretly pleased when they went down last season.

So, I didn't really, any more. But now, because of Sami and Texeira, I am keeping an eye on Brighton. I perused their forums last night (sorry, Sean, don't leave) and, while they are pleased with young João, the jury is still out on Sami with his change of formations so far. But last night's 2-0 win at Leeds was a surprisingly good one for their fans and apparently they played well to boot.

Up the 'gulls.

Anyone here have a second team? Local team?

That's a bit like saying "Do you sleep with any other women besides your wife?" The answer is, only cunts do.

But what if she's hot and doesn't make you pay?

I thought maybe a lot of people who follow Liverpool are not from Liverpool so may have a geographical affiliation with another club.

Maybe that's not the case, though.

That would be like supporting City or Arsenal though, not cool.

I keep an eye out for Chelmsford, Colchester and Norwich, my local teams, but wouldn't class that as supporting them.

I always keep an eye on Plymouth and Exeter as they are so close to me, but as they are largely shite, not a lot to get excited about.

Bristol City.
Don't care too much either way but it pleases me somewhat when I peruse the scores to see them winning.

Not really in England.

I always want Valencia to do well because I lived there and I'd prefer Roma to win anything in the Italian league - but I don't really care.

Derby City and Ipswich were my first teams.

I have a soft spot for Hull and Cardiff, as a family member played for them in the 60's.

Home Farm (now Dublin FC or something else) as well.

Recently developed a liking towards Dortmund, a class club all the way through from supporters to players and manager.

Don't support them anything like I support LFC of course but say if LFC were knocked out of CL they would be the club that I hope to do well.

When I can be bothered I keep an eye out for my local non-league side.

A good few years ago I tried to take a bit more of an interest but it was increasingly hard work doing so. These were the days before twitter etc and information was hard to come by. You could regularly show up at games and the team would be completely different, with the star player from previous weeks just disappearing and never spoken of again.

I've watched most Barca games since 2004.

I don't follow the club like I do Liverpool, i.e know all the ins and outs, but have really enjoyed watching them play over the years and would say now that I probably support them when it's a competition Liverpool are not involved in.

Roma for me.
I kinda keep an eye on Oldham (home town) and Wycombe (local club) but only liverpool and Roma get my love.

I have a season ticket at Brentford. It was great watching them go up last season (last time I saw a team promoted was us in 1962) but there's nothing like the intensity of my feelings for Liverpool.

Fulham, Tranmere, Chester, Southport, Lille, Brechin, Huddersfield.
I also wish Leeds well - their club hates United and Leeds typically raise their game against them.

Leeds are awful man. Ugh!
Not saying I like them. I went to Leeds University and went to a few games there. Not a pleasant atmosphere. I always wanted the opposition to win, and once or twice almost got myself into trouble by an incorrect reaction to events on the field. But they will punch above their weight when playing Manchester United, and that's something I like in a club.
Huddersfield and Rotherham were the stadiums I liked to visit during my Yorkshire years. A good sense of humour amongst those supporters.

Obviously LFC no. 1 but I also keep an eye out for;

Morecambe (home town and played in their youth/reserves sides)
Carlisle (father's team and had trials there)
Barnet (work around the corner)
Shrewsbury and Port Vale (worked with them whilst at uni)
Milwall and Brentford (worked with some if heir youth teams)

Milan, Dortmund, PSG (love watching European football - I'll watch anything really)

I'm more likely to keep an eye out for teams that I want to see lose as often as possible, mostly due to some childish grudge or friends who are fans of their who hate us.

Like Luton Town (for their brief hold over us in the early 80s on that cnut of a pitch. And Forest, 'cos of two blokes that I know who despise us because when they were really good, we were really better, and they still, to this day, cannot let it go. Used to also look for Brighton to lose too, due to knocking us out of the Cup in two successive seasons when I was very young, but I can't now that Sami's gone there.
