I was thinking earlier when someone re-tweet something from Michael Owen, which was greeted by fairly unanimous slaggin' how sad it is for someone as talented as him to be ending his career without really anyone to love him.
Most players, even the more nomadic players have ONE club where they are loved, but can the same be said of Owen? He wont be loved by Liverpool fans (although while he was here we remember fondly OBV, but LOVE!) or Newcastle or Madrid or Stoke or United. A cracking footballer whose career is just fizzling out.
I cant think of many other examples of a player like that?

Hmmm...debatable. It's a love/hate relationship IMO.
He spent his best years at LFC.

To be fair, even though I don't like him at all, I respect the fact that he's one of the classiest defenders ever to lace boots for us.
