Post Match EFL wk11 Man City (A) 3-0 Nov 9th

This is the 2nd time in 4 games we've been beaten by 3 goals

It's the 2nd time his team hasn't scored in the league Btw and you have to admit that we have struggled to create really good chances in games going back to the 2nd half of last season

We have 5 other premier league sides who know the formula to beating us in champ lge

How long do we have to wait for players to bed in? When does it become enough is enough...

It's all good to be supportive of the manager but blind faith supporting doesn't make you some super fan or a liverpool fan of old
There is nothing wrong with questioning slot and his tactics and what we are seeing domestically has been utter dross.. And no the villa game wasn't some masterclass.. It was a good result, a deserved result but as per usual we lacked any real creativity but got gifted a goal and controlled the game afterwards
Well said

You said we had 2 changes. I corrected you.

We got well beaten by a Pep away from home who are well on their way back to being the dominate force that has won 6/8 titles.

Slot doesn’t get a free pass, I’m just a bit more grounded in the reality of the situation.

Away to City is always a very tough game.

We replaced half our starting 11 (mostly out of necessity) and were always going to need a transition period unless the new boys hit the ground at top speed which was always unlikely.

Wirtz - I always said was a huge risk and would take time.
Isak - has been injured or unfit so far
Kerkez - is taking time to adapt
Frimpong - mainly injured
Hugo - been great but can’t do it alone
Dash - also been great but is a step down from Ali.
Then you have our players that stayed.
Konate - has been overall poor bar a few notable games
Virgil - has been a level below
Bradley - injured for the most part til this week.
Ali - injured
Macca - injured/unfit/out of form.
Gravy - suspended/injured for a number of games
Salah - well below the insane standards of last season and struggling in a new look formation.

I’m not saying we don’t need to improve and Slot has to get us winning consistently but there are a host of extenuating circumstances that most seem to brush aside or overlook because they want him gone.

He deserves time to get it right and top 5 with a deeper run in the CL will be enough for me this season to bed in everyone.
Lmao. What a cuck.
Top 5 after 446M spent?

Semantics

Donnarumma would probably not have saved it but Robbo was in an offside position and had to duck. Come on...

I'm fine with the offside decision.

If we played well then I'd moan about that disallowed goal more. ..but we didn't. We still would have lost. The tide wasn't shifting, that wouldnt have kicked us on. It still would have been a loss.

That moment helps distract from a frankly abhorrent performance, and gives slot a mild bit of armour

No one was saying that after the goat season Salah had. Stop with the revisionism
I was openly questioning the value of it and also banging on about how much work Diaz / Szobo / whatever right back was playing had to cover at a cost to their output as compensation to a massively skewed system around Salah.

I thought Diaz and Szobo were particularly hard done by and it seems that was the case.

100% this.

However the consistency is rubbish. I hate the "not interfering with play" rule. But the consistency of how its applied is even worse.

The consistency is crap. Silva got away with one more blatant against Wolves last year.

Even then pen had me miffed. I think it is a pen. However, in the Newcastle game earlier in the day Dan Burn stood on a players toe who went down and was booked for a dive. Even Burn looked gutted when the whistle first went. VAR looked at it and said not enough contact to go down. It was a clear pen. Both incidents get opposite outcomes.

We can bemoan referees for hours, but every teams got to put up with the lottery of them. It would be nice if we got the rub of the green for a little bit, but is what it is.
