Post Match EFL wk11 Man City (A) 3-0 Nov 9th

This is the 2nd time in 4 games we've been beaten by 3 goals

It's the 2nd time his team hasn't scored in the league Btw and you have to admit that we have struggled to create really good chances in games going back to the 2nd half of last season

We have 5 other premier league sides who know the formula to beating us in champ lge

How long do we have to wait for players to bed in? When does it become enough is enough...

It's all good to be supportive of the manager but blind faith supporting doesn't make you some super fan or a liverpool fan of old
There is nothing wrong with questioning slot and his tactics and what we are seeing domestically has been utter dross.. And no the villa game wasn't some masterclass.. It was a good result, a deserved result but as per usual we lacked any real creativity but got gifted a goal and controlled the game afterwards
Well said

You said we had 2 changes. I corrected you.

We got well beaten by a Pep away from home who are well on their way back to being the dominate force that has won 6/8 titles.

Slot doesn’t get a free pass, I’m just a bit more grounded in the reality of the situation.

Away to City is always a very tough game.

We replaced half our starting 11 (mostly out of necessity) and were always going to need a transition period unless the new boys hit the ground at top speed which was always unlikely.

Wirtz - I always said was a huge risk and would take time.
Isak - has been injured or unfit so far
Kerkez - is taking time to adapt
Frimpong - mainly injured
Hugo - been great but can’t do it alone
Dash - also been great but is a step down from Ali.
Then you have our players that stayed.
Konate - has been overall poor bar a few notable games
Virgil - has been a level below
Bradley - injured for the most part til this week.
Ali - injured
Macca - injured/unfit/out of form.
Gravy - suspended/injured for a number of games
Salah - well below the insane standards of last season and struggling in a new look formation.

I’m not saying we don’t need to improve and Slot has to get us winning consistently but there are a host of extenuating circumstances that most seem to brush aside or overlook because they want him gone.

He deserves time to get it right and top 5 with a deeper run in the CL will be enough for me this season to bed in everyone.
Lmao. What a cuck.
Top 5 after 446M spent?

Semantics

Donnarumma would probably not have saved it but Robbo was in an offside position and had to duck. Come on...

I'm fine with the offside decision.

If we played well then I'd moan about that disallowed goal more. ..but we didn't. We still would have lost. The tide wasn't shifting, that wouldnt have kicked us on. It still would have been a loss.

That moment helps distract from a frankly abhorrent performance, and gives slot a mild bit of armour

No one was saying that after the goat season Salah had. Stop with the revisionism
I was openly questioning the value of it and also banging on about how much work Diaz / Szobo / whatever right back was playing had to cover at a cost to their output as compensation to a massively skewed system around Salah.

I thought Diaz and Szobo were particularly hard done by and it seems that was the case.

100% this.

However the consistency is rubbish. I hate the "not interfering with play" rule. But the consistency of how its applied is even worse.

The consistency is crap. Silva got away with one more blatant against Wolves last year.

Even then pen had me miffed. I think it is a pen. However, in the Newcastle game earlier in the day Dan Burn stood on a players toe who went down and was booked for a dive. Even Burn looked gutted when the whistle first went. VAR looked at it and said not enough contact to go down. It was a clear pen. Both incidents get opposite outcomes.

We can bemoan referees for hours, but every teams got to put up with the lottery of them. It would be nice if we got the rub of the green for a little bit, but is what it is.

The issue is, those are given. Its the inconsistency. Man City had one allowed this season and guess who the referee was who went to VAR to allow it.. Chris
Guess who was on VAR to give Doku's pen the same ref oh didn't give salah a foul last season before everton equalised and the same ref who saw Doku kick Macca in the chest.

I didn't care for the goal as we were rubbish and we would've lost regardless, it was still a clean goal tho, Robbo WAS not in his way at all. Awful decision

Loved Diaz. Saw so much slander on my timeline all the time so whenver i see fans say, why did we sell him, i a foam out of the mouth. The issue wasn't selling him, it was not replacing him. Gakpo, Cheisa, Rio are all there, this manager doesn't wanna rotate and give fringe players a chance. He's so cooked. I just hope we sack him this season and not next.

I agree and I think unfortunate that they decide to apply the rule correctly against us, but like you say, we were still shit.

That's the thing. In football, you make your own luck. I am resigned to being fucked over every game that helps me cope with the bad officiating. Aside that, DO WE EVEN create chances?! 1 shot on target!!! LOL. Arne Slot is actually a criminal! Its gone past the point of sacking him

I'm not sure where we go from here.

We are a shadow of the side from last season..

Like I've said previously..

The side likes Grit, that the likes of Diaz and Jota would bring you.

Salah needs to be benched if Slot is insisting on playing the new players..

We need to find a way, and at the moment there is no sign of that coming any time soon.. I think Slot is being too stubborn and to predictable with his tactics..

League is done.. we just need to ensure we finish in the Top 4 or 5. Otherwise a decline in the following season will be imminent..

Just before we should have equalised I was praying that we got to half time one nil down cos they were battering us, knowing that we're very often Second Half FC. I know we were shite but you can't tell me we wouldn't have got a point if we'd gone in at 1-1. Goals change everything.

I know it would only have been papering over the cracks but it's so fucking daft to have that goal ruled out.

Robbo is not in the keeper’s way, so he isn’t interfering with play.
The linesman can’t see that, only the ref can.
They said they disallowed the goal on the basis of the linesman’s decision.
He can’t make that decision.
I’m not saying it’s bent, I’m saying it’s a bad decision and VAR should have intervened.
Heads dropped after that.

And it all starts from the man who's giving them instructions

Wouldn't have mattered. It would've been 3-1, 4-1 anyway

It was a hammering, and Slot's team looked beating one from the 1st minute! What do you expect when a mere average manager in Slot to select two most useless light weights in Salah & Wirtz? The outcome is a certain defeat, LFC season is over, there is no chance to finish in the top 7 of the league. We might have a battle on our hand at the other end of the table. In that game, we never had a front line at all, apart from three headless chickens, useless lightweights, zero efforts and zero outcome. Everyone now can see the true metal of Slot, he is a very average manager, got lucky in his first season!
It is painful to say that I do expect Slot's team to loss at least ten game or so, five defeats out of six games, it is a recipe for a disaster! LFC owners must act quick and put an end to this disgraceful time, it is a reminiscing of B. Roger's awful period, the owners must NOT think of Nutcase Klopp as an option!

GOD HELP US

When have I called for him to be sacked?
Ive only ever called for two managers to be sacked, bodgers and owl face and I was very vocal that I didn't want that owl faced twat getting the job in the first place..
I have said I hope he can turn it around but he isnt immune from criticism and on current form it's justified..
Alot of people have legit issues with his style of football going back to last season , i have to say I do find it boring, I think it lacks creativity
Fair enough. Many are calling for him to be sacked and that was even before the last week.

I don’t find it boring but it’s not heavy metal for sure.

Only thing i agree with is The owners must act quick, Rodgers and Klopp being an option.
No to ALL 3

Palace in the cup was such a non game I already forgot it 😂

Who said anything about not questioning? I simply have said he absolutely deserves more time and more respect for what he has achieved and the way he’s handled himself through the good, the bad and the tragic at the club.

If you don't want him sacked, you support mediocrity! And you are very delusional for thinking he can turn this round. He needs to be sectioned, chained, bounded and chased all the way to Amesterdam

We are dropping like a stone, so yes, the hope is we turn it around, but the deeper depths we plumb the more we'd have to put together a hell of a run to resolve.

We are a third of the way through the season. Our performances for many months have been getting worse and worse. Occasionally we seem to get ourselves up for the right opposition and for a big game. The vast majority of the time we are shit, and the trajectory is that we are more and more shit. We were better in the first third of last season than the second, the second than the third, the third than the beginning of this.

So while I don't think we should be cunts about wanting him out, if someone does want him out, and isn't a cunt about it, my mind doesn't exactly boggle.

There was a part of me that was furious about how we played against Madrid, like, everthing about how professionally we approached that game hasn't been in evidence for a while.

The way we approached this fixture last year I found defeatist. The way we approached PSG was defeatist. The way that we threw the Carling cup away was a resignation to defeat. We need to win 4 of the next 6 or better, and if I'd have shown you the fixtures 6 weeks ago, or a year ago, or two years ago, or most of the last decade, you'd have told me we'd have won all of them, and you'd have mostly been right.

If we instead continue as we have, despite some poor opposition, and you still say we should keep him, then that's fine, but it isn't based on anything. I'm guessing the people who do make the decision will indeed be basing it on something.
This post is more reasonable than 95% of the Slot out rubbish on here since the poor run began.
