Ekitidiot

Don't forget about Bajcetic

I though he was Dead ?.. He made of biscuits is bag of chips..

He is much needed numbers as back up in midfield, he will be this Season's Elliott probably if he stay fit in terms of appearances..

I think Cheisa gets in ahead of him in the CL squad though..

The biggest quandary with Liverpool at the moment, is what to do with Wirtz..

He's on his way back and if Leoni's injury is as bad as it looked, we'll definitely need him.
Endo didn't look great either. I'd rather have Bajcetic playing in the middle based on his performance today.
He can play in defence too.

Slot admonishing Ekigol and giving Chiesa praise at the same time:

"Then I told him that if you score in a Champions League final in the 87th minute after beating three players and hitting it in the top corner I can maybe understand you say: 'It's all about me'.

"But I'm old fashioned, I'm 47, I'm old, and I haven't played at this level but I did score a few goals, and if I scored a goal like this I would have turned around and walked up to Federico Chiesa and say: 'This goal is all about you, this is not about me'.

"So, yeah, needless, not smart, you call it stupid and I call it stupid."

He also mentioned that he himself was stupid when he got sent off vs Everton.

I think it’s a reflection of Isak scoring first half and Hugo feeling the pressure to respond in kind and stake his claim for the no9.

Just stupid and will be shit if we don’t beat palace now, especially as he was great against them.

However on the positive side, we won a potential banana skin with a jigsaw side. Isak is class as long as we keep him fit, cheesy is growing on me and should be in the CL squad and Hugo? Well he’s young and living the dream we’ve all done stupid things and he’ll learn he is going to be a club legend that fella.
Leoni reminded me of Hansen when he arrived from Partick many years ago, hope it’s not too serious as he could be a great asset.
Crowd were quiet but mid week bla bla bla.
Marmalade in goal also looked commanding and in control when needed.
All in all, decent.

I'm not sure he would have criticised him quite so publicly and would probably have said he needs to learn etc etc.

Privately, I think it would have been a different story.
Yeah, I think Klopp would have done a "boys will be boys" thing. He probably would have criticised the rule too.

He did something stupid, but it's not the first time a footballer did the same or worse. Divock scored a winner and wanted to bring the ball back to the middle circle. Not the same scenario obviously but a similar brain fart moment.

I don't get the overreaction. It's done, he will hopefully learn so let's move on. Everything will be forgotten when we get the 3 points against Palace.

I guess you could probably just look at whatever his reaction to Nunez's sending off was. I can't remember tbh, but it was equally moronic.

Same outcome, sure. But, I can't put headbutting someone in the same category as taking your shirt off in celebration.

Apart from Haaland he's probs the most in-form striker in the league. We're off to Palace on Saturday, they're unbeaten in 17 matches. It was so fucking stupid and if we don't get three points on Saturday I think a load of older unfit posters need to break into his house and while he's asleep stand around his bed, take our tops off, and as he wakes up and sees all the bellies we all scream 'shame' at him.

What if we don't get the 3 points vs Palace? What if we have to play Isak longer than we want, and he gets injured for 2 months?

That's why there's an "overreaction". Because it's cost us for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I don't remember anyone defending what Nunez did back then.

I'm actually low key worried about this, yeh sure I get the argument we've got enough games for two strikers, but if Slot has no way of playing them both in the same team, it's 100% going to cause a bitterness between the two of them, especially when Ekitike has basically been the best striker in the league in this first month or two, but Isak will take his place regardless.

I'm not saying they have to start every game together, but I'd love to see us play that way a couple of times, just so whilst they know they've got to compete with each other, it won't be either you or me so to speak.

Thing is, even if Slot found a way to play them both together, there still would be bitterness as someone will always miss out on scoring the goal. We had it with mo and mane and they were nailed on starters.

Competition breeds bitterness, but it breeds striving to be better as well

My main concern is that Isak and Ekitike play very differently, and we will miss the high pressure married to technique from Ekitike.

I like Isak. I rate Isak. He's currently not fit enough or has the understanding with teammates yet to be at the level Ekitike is at

The reason we are so annoyed is because he's been our best attacking player and is scoring a lot. We didn't need him to highlight his name, his football was doing that just fine. I don't think Isak is anywhere near as sharp as him, or as useful off the ball at the moment, or in general. It could easily cost us points.

I think it's worse than Darwin, because Darwin wasnt being a self aggrandizing cunt, he just lost his head.

It'll be a massive game for wirtz.

I can see why Slot, and many fans are annoyed. If Isak were fully fit, it would be a different story, to some degree. But I’m pretty sure Hugo would have been starting Saturday, and now won’t be. So it’s all on Isak to nick a couple of goals.

I'm not sure what annoys me more -- the sending off, the fucking shit celebration itself, or the impression I have that he celebrated like a petulant self-absorbed child because he felt Isak's arrival was taking the shine off him.

Slot should send Ekitike to laundry duty for a week. You want to hang out a shirt for all to worship? Here, go hang 25 kits. Socks included.

I really hope that this doesn't turn into a rivalry.
