Shows how even the game was in the end. We dominated the first half and they did the second half. Our subs did not work well at all.
2-0 flattered us in the end, if Brighton had someone who could finish, this could've so easily finished 2-2.
If we didn’t have a geriatric on at the end we would’ve won 4-2

Think that was more to Brighton overcommitting the last 15+ stoppage, but yes I concur.

Well i didn't see any of it, but it's sooo nice to read all the positive comments.
Everyone without a star by their name should chip in .
Definite improvement and a welcome 3pts but a long way to go.
Kerkez looks far more at home when he has the flank to himself and isn’t put in a straight jacket. Still far too rash though and needs to learn to stop diving into / after players so much.
Defence perhaps better but still pretty suspect and we were saved by Brighton’s lack of quality (and Alisson) on more than one occasion.
Midfield had good spells but still far too easy to play through and our transition play is slow, ponderous and full of “not quite” passes too often. Macca looking better which is big for us and Jones continuing his good form which is great. Interesting to see Gravy further forward with Jones often sitting back with defenders.
Ekitike probably could’ve scored 4 today. Will be interesting to see how we handle the Isak vs Ekitike situation. Ekitike is still raw but should 100% be starting.
Salah looked a different player today. Had that big chance to score - shame he didn’t. Will this really be his last game?
I still think a quality pacey wide forward and a DM transform this team.

Great result but the preformance itself wasn't anything special.. The win was just about deserved and the way we played just reminded me of the last 4 months of last season when slot ball was in full flow.. Winning games, deservingly so but only just and tending to rely on Ali a bit...
Creativity was basically no existent apart from late on when we proceed to fuck up two or three 3v1s which was just down to brighton pushing on rather than any brilliant attacking play by us..
Still want slot gone, can't bare his brand of football, just bores the fuck out of me. I don't think that the football will get much better than this under slot, this is his way of playing

CB is the priority though
Our new CB/RB will transform us into CL winners.

Those of you saying that we were fortunate that Brighton didn't score a couple themselves are absolutely right. But you're forgetting that we really should have had somewhere between 4 and 6 ourselves, so fortunate in part as it was, we were still thoroughly deserving of the win.
Ekitiké offers a versatile threat
Hugo Ekitiké was probably a bit miffed when his arrival at Liverpool was overshadowed by the record-breaking deal to acquire Alexander Isak. The Frenchman did not come cheap at £79m and might have expected to be the focal point of the Liverpool attack this season. Against Brighton, Ekitiké offered evidence of his sharp movement and clinical finishing. Prior to Mohamed Salah replacing Joe Gomez and the radical reconfiguration that came with the substitution, he was playing as a versatile forward, popping up anywhere across the frontline. This flexibility could allow him to stand out from Isak, showing he can offer greater variety, and would potentially allow the two to play alongside each other more often as they did against Inter. In addition to quality, Ekitiké showed pure endeavour on Saturday, eventually needing to be substituted because of cramp. He came off looking exhausted, but his work ethic is a fine addition to natural talent. Will Unwin
I only caught the last 20 minutes and the MOTD highlights, so I can’t make any big claims, but from what I saw and what others have said, the team looked sharper and fitter. Having Jones in the starting XI still feels key. He brings the right mix of work rate and technical quality, and that balance seems to be clicking nicely alongside Wirtz. Rival fans are clearly getting more and more frustrated by how good Ekitike already looks and how good he could become. After all the digs about Wirtz and Isak, it’s quite satisfying. Some sensible Arsenal fans seem baffled that they went for Gyokeres instead of him. There's not much to smile about given their fortunes compared to ours, but that's something to cling to! He's a star in the making.
