Post Match EPL Brighton (H) 2-0 Sat 13th December 15:00

Agree with all the above and would add that he "gets" what it means to be a Liverpool player. The way he talks in interviews about "We are Liverpool and need to do better" says to me that he feels he's at the right club and is mustard keen to do well here. Me likey.

It wasn't a good game at all! However, 3 points and clean sheet were the only highlight of the game.
A game of missed golden chances by an expensive and average Ekitike who the clever Slot rate him so highly and better than Isak?? Slot is a weak manager! to Sacrifice Szobo for a right back position to entertain the utter useless Salah and changed the team formation for him! who should be dropped for his damaging comments against the LFC! Whereas the clever Slot had a complete right back in Ramsay sitting on the bench?
I just don't know where LFC is going to?

Ramsay is shit and in no position to play 60 mins + of PL football. The change Slot did was the only viable option.

Is he shit and in no position to play 60 minutes of football?

Weve barely seen him for one reason or another, so it's hard to know. Id always advocate for playing players in their position.

Yes. And we know that Szobo can do a job there. In the end we won so its a moot point anyway.

Ramsay is not shit, but with slot under pressure, I can understand his reluctance too.

He's hardly featured for any club these last few years, and has 90 mins for the first team in the Carabao cup this season. Throwing him into a even hard fought game at 1-0 up and 60 mins to go would have been an awful managerial decision.

Torres was someone who got what it means to be a liverpool player as well.

He wanted to come here, loved the club.

I don't even know or want to know what is my point.

Speaking of Torres. Ekitike reminded me somewhat of him on Saturday. That ridiculous ball control and gliding past players with pace and acceleration. Knocks the ball past the defender(s) and then just leaves them in the dust.
When he develops his finishing he'll be an elite player. No doubt.

Sorry, mate - Don't agree with most of this... I think Slot handled things as well as could be expected, and though Hugo did miss several good chances, he was also outstanding for most of the game. And, though I'm not a fan of Salah's behaviour this past couple of years, bringing him on and moving Szobo was absolutely the right thing to do, for more than just on-the-pitch reasons. We were lucky that Brighton missed some good chances, yes, but they can say exactly the same of us, and overall, it was a vastly improved performance.

Seems as though the general consensus is that Gomez should have been sent off.
VAR made another mistake and the last 15 of 49 have been red card situations.

All of that is true, but fans and pundits have contributed and are still contributing to the situation. When any of us talk about "using common sense" or "it wasn't enough for a penalty/red card", the message the referees get is that we don't want the rules to be strictly enforced and that's Route One to the kind of inconsistency you're rightly complaining about.

Those of you saying that we were fortunate that Brighton didn't score a couple themselves are absolutely right. But you're forgetting that we really should have had somewhere between 4 and 6 ourselves, so fortunate in part as it was, we were still thoroughly deserving of the win.
This is often the case on here. When the opposition had a close couple all of our chances seem to be forgotten immediately the moment it finishes and somehow we were lucky!

There are similarities between Torres and Ekitike, never occurred to me because they are different in stature. But Torres was an established player at a top club and there was huge excitement at his signing.

Hugo came under the radar and with less expectations despite the relatively high price.

Still looks raw at times and it didn't look like he was as powerful in the air compared to Torres but that was a lovely finish on Saturday.

The question me and my mates are asking is how high is his bar? Liverpool has been blessed with great strikers and we can't help compare with the past which is unfair. Can he develop into another world class elite striker?

Too early I guess but the potential is there and he's so exciting to watch.
