Pre Match EPL Brighton (H) Saturday December 13th 15:00

If Isak has a knock what’s the chances of continuing with the diamond from midweek with Ekitike (to the left) and Mo up front (to the right) with Wirtz supplying bullets?

It will depend on how he trains later today. I can see him carrying through if he trains.

Isak is barely good enough for a bench spot. Complete muck so far.

----------Grav------Jones--------------
----Szobo---------------Wirtz------
---------Salah-------Ekitike

Although Slot will force Gakpo in if fit. If Salah's still a cunt then Mac Allister should start with a rejigged midfield. No point mentioning Chiesa.

The box midfield seemed to work against Inter, so might be a helpful starting point to improved results.

Gakpo and Endo out until the new year.

Though I've a feeling it might be:

Gomez----Konate------VVD-----Kerkez-
----------Grav----------Jones---------------
-----------------Macca----------------------
---Szobo-------Ekitike--------Wirtz-------

With Salah, Gakpo and Isak potentially out, we are looking light up front and short of goals.

All that after spending a gazillion dollars.

We have no game next midweek, so don't need to worry too much about over working the midfield for next 3 weeks.

I'd go

-------------Ali---------------
Gomez--Ibu--VVD--Kerkez
-----------Gravy-------------
------Macca---Jones-------
-----------Szobo------------
------Wirtz-----Ekitike-------

Could lack a bit of width, but very dynamic with lots of ball carriers.

Not many options from the bench - Robbo, Nyoni, Rio, Isak (if only good for 20 mins)

I think it’s too late in the day for any public apology from Mo to have him selected in the squad. The bench could be looking very light tomorrow.

I'm fine with this.

He's soon gone to AFCON anyway and I prefer lads in the squad who care more about the team and love being given a chance.

This team has a good chance to win tomorrow.

I think I care that we have a starting xi that can win. We shouldn't be relying on bench changers anyway
