Post Match EPL - Burnley (A) 0-1 Sunday 14th Sept 14:00

It's pointless trying to reason, he plays the game in his head, fuck the Gulf in finances, they should have just played and made it easier for us. The fact they didn't fucks with his head and his well flawed theorising.
Put your brain into gear. I didn't say they shouldn't have played like that, I said I hate it when teams do that and just because they can hang on for 90+ mins doesn't mean they deserve anything. They didn't and got what they deserve. Now is that clear enough for you or should I use a blackboard?

While it's dangerous to live like this, I am sort of enjoying this streak right now of nicking winning goals only after 80 minutes. I'm not sure my heart can take a few more of such wins but yet it's thrilling to see us keep extending the streak.

Salah was putrid but scored under extreme pressure (even more so after an awful performance).

The man is magic.

We’ve won 4 out of 4 and beaten our most likely rival for the title all while our best player and biggest signings either haven’t kicked a ball or done very little so far.

Hard not to be delighted right now.

4 wins from 4 is great an all, but we're shit to watch.....like really shit. Every 90mins of drawing blood from my eyes over how uninspiringly shit our football is.

& Salah lost his magic about 3 years ago. Shell of his former self, called his stinker before kick off. Predicatable cunt.

We have played 4 games against opponents who were set out to defend.

The floodgates might open in Europe where we have more space to play.
Most teams play this way against the champions.

City and Utd never had many issues unlocking defences.

Hopefully Isak can be the one.

I couldn’t care less if we grind out another title.

It’s very early days for this group of players, I’ve zero doubt it’ll click, esp with Isak.

Salah will find his Mojo, I’ve little doubt of that but even his poor run he’s scored two (1 winner) and set another winner in 4 games of stinking the place out.

Others tasked with creating and scoring haven’t done that and one of them has zero goals, zero assists and a massive massive price tag.

Salah isn’t a worry for me.

It's obviously too early and I hate to say it but so far Wirtz hasn't shown anything to be seen as an upgrade on Elliott
Not unfair based on current performances and they have similarities, but you can already see that Wirtz is quicker and stronger than Elliott. He also has better feet.

Elliott grew up with premier-paced football. Once Wirtz does get used to the speed and lack of space in this league, he will vastly outshine anything that Elliott ever offered. And, I was a huge Elliott fan.

Whether he justifies the price tag, we will have to see. People also need to recognize that very good young players are more valuable the very good older players, because they have much resell potential in the prime of their careers.

Wasn't Wirtz brought in to help us unlock these kinds of defences?
Yea of course he was. But he’s not going to run at a parked bus, jink his way past six then dink the keeper when they’re all parked in their penalty area.
He’s there to make space and create chances for others and himself. But he needs others to be on his wavelength for that to happen. That takes time and understanding. The nutmeg pass today was lovely but the recipient just didn’t expect that kind of thing to happen. That will come with time.

All today showed was that Macca is horribly unfit. Now frimmers and Bradley are back, szob has to be the 8.

I'm very fucking worried about kerkez too

Shaq didn't make it look that hard

You’ve got zero doubt except the worry about Wirtz? Which one is it?

I thought Kerkez was fine - getting crosses into the box at last - bar that braindead dive that left Slot with no option but to sub hm off. I though Robbo was excellent too.

Unfit or tired after (was it 2 x 90 mins?) his SA exertion? I said in the pre-game that I didn't think he'd start after that so was surprised he did and he looked mentally off it which translated to a really poor game.

I don’t think Macca is a good fit for park the bus teams. He is all about keeping calm in chaos and picking the smart pass.

These games need players with drive to force defenders to break their shape. That is exactly what Szobo (once in midfield) and Bradders provided. We did look like scoring for most of the second half and never looked like scoring in the first.

Safe to say a decent striker would have gotten chiesa’s header on target. I’m surprised he didn’t do better.
Unfortunately, that opportunity played to his weakness - heading. Unfortunately, Jota would have absolutely buried that.

That's why I thought, maybe a good idea to rotate the team. Ideally, Chiesa should have started, and Bradley or Frimpong too.
Maybe even Gomez.
What did playing full strength get us today?
