More or less, it was an expected defeat taking in consideration the pathetic performances of the previous five games, shambolic team management and bad gutless selections by Slot, which I'm really starting to doubt his ability of being a top manager, he is almost Klopp in his weird era! (some people might say that Klopp won the league? Yes, But he couldn't repeat it). It is astonished for any smart manager to notice that he has two lightweight useless players alike Salah and Wirtz and they are the most expensive players at LFC, who gives almost zero contribution towards the team playing efforts, The team has been really playing with 8 players in the past games, for any proper good manager, would rectify it at once, apart from Slot!
Palace controlled the whole game, and they should won it 8-1. Slot comments after the game was quite inept to say the least!
The defense was all over the place, the sub choices were awful, bring in the Dutch one direction Gakpo, rather than Jones, it was a total mess, Slot sent Chiesa & Rio towards the end when it was too late. Just look at Slot face during the game, to see his two beloved useless under performing so badly, Salah has coned LFC for his contract extension by playing so well last season only the early part of it, I am not so sure who bought Wirtz the expensive useless, he will be a flop! Is it Slot? Or the club secretary? Bad buy and wasting a lot of LFC's money!!!

Gakpo not starting is what killed us, we needed him instead of Wirtz and he is our best option there

Gakpo ran out and Frimpong ran out too trying to get on the fast break. The goal was actually TOTALLY Kerkez's fault. Kerkez gave them the throw in. And then he also let them get the first header which produced the goal. Kerkez was a liability all match long.
This second photo shows Frimpong to be very offensively minded. Also helps explain why Slot keeps playing Szoboszlai at the right-back position. Frimpong is super fast and quite reckless in particular situations/moments. Had Liverpool won that ball the counter attack would be on. And with his great speed Frimpong could have stormed down the pitch. Such balls are usually around 85 vs 15 percent likelihood to go in favour of the defensive team. But, again, Kerkez is a major liability. He was at fault for exactly the same sort of things already which have led to goals.
What is strange is that Slot doesn't criticize Kerkez for that goal. It was all his fault. Slot also said "one player was offensively minded" which is false. Two players were offensively minded. Gakpo totally left the area.
Gakpo I'd get. But frimpong? What, he should be concentrating on what he's best at, winning headers in the box, not running really fast on the counter?
