We are doing some very safety first things. We should be winning based on our chances and are willing to risk drawing for more safety. I'm tired of saying that this is the obvious way forward given how broken we were. We may of course lose though.

If we get the goal and hang on, I'm 100% fine with it. But no question it's been dull and uninspiring so far.

And subbing Gakpo and Kerkez on together makes no sense.

I may be being unfair, but I feel like they play with fear and apprehension, and that, in my opinion, comes from the manager. There's no emotion, urgency or bravery, and you could see parallels in Slot.

Any team that has been completely exposed as we have, and is so at risk, even against a team that creates nothing, will play like that. It's reasonable to be afraid. It will take some time to get rid of that feeling and it does take going back to basics.

It's understandable, yeah. But to borrow the overused cliché, fortune favours the brave. We lost points against this very same opposition and Sunderland due to this mentality of dropping off and inviting teams onto us.

Very nearly punished for it there. And you can see it coming.

My big thought, beyond questions of psychology and everything else is that we just fade at the end of games. That's a fitness thing, surely.

And this, yeah.

We also start each half slowly. That points to a man-management/motivation issue.

I don't think we are dropping off though, I think they are being more competitive and they look fresher at the end of the game.

Both can be true. You can see the panic at the back as the game goes on because we don't have the bravery to kill teams off. The lack of fitness doesn't help matters.

I'm watching an atrocious team that hit rock bottom try to get out of it. I'm not expecting great football or even good football.
