Post Match EPL Man City (H) 1-2 Sunday February 8th

That last incident puts me in mind of the Garcia ghost goal. Should have been a penalty and a red card for Cech, instead of which the ref allowed the goal and kept it 11 v 11.
Which is what should have happened here. Dom was stupid but VAR really are fun sponges.

It was the one decision the ref got right... and VAR still fucked it.

Just sack Slot already. It’s inviteable and something needs to change.

We’re not getting CL football next season with him in charge.

What confuses me most about this group, is that for what 25/30 mins in the second half we really took the game to them, on the front foot, winning the 50/50’s as the ball comes back out to recycle the ball again for sustained pressure….everything was quick and probing.

Not once this season have we ever started the first 20-25 minutes like that. We used to do this under Klopp, particularly at home and blow teams away within half an hour - then ring the changes later in the game to maintain fitness.

It’s exactly made Anfield fortress, this softly softly slowly slowly, let’s build ourselves into the game bollocks has only encouraged teams coming to Anfield…our record this year is evidence of that.

The thing is, between now and the end of the season, I fully expect to see us start most of our games as we did today. Seriously who watches that, with the knowledge it can evidently be quicker, more intense and go ‘yeah we’ll have some more of that’

Bollocks to the fitness reports, the lads need to throw the kitchen sink at every game until the end of the season if they want to salvage anything of it.

Game management poor again ....Allison shocker conceding the penalty & then deciding to stay & play up front 🫣 Gakpo why does he play every week shite. sack slot at the end of the season

the problem is haaland pulls dom back, so the goal scoring team commits a foul in the buildup to a goal, a very blatant one.

that gets the whole thing looked at and rightly so imo, i don’t like var but we can’t switch off the bits we don’t like in favour of common sense. we all know the refs don’t have any common sense, chaos would ensue .

Frankly I don't give a shit but since he is not letting up so whatever.
You do a give a shit though, as rather than focusing on the performance on the pitch...you went through a thread to look at posts by someone calling out shite?

It's weird behaviour.

It's not even like the negativity is unjustified. We were fucking shite first half new played well for 30 min and then we shut down

We're fundamentally broken at a base level.

Tactics are shite (if they're even there), age profile is fucked, depth is fucked.

Sacking the manager isn't going to fix anything but by fuck it needs to be the first step

Don’t care about VAR at the end. Had already accepted the loss anyway.

Feel hard done by with a few decisions today though.

That was a moment of madness for Alisson.
Loads of poor performances this season.

Honestly were not making CL, so id be just going mama all season. Start chasing out the old guard.

Oh wait. We can't for vvd or Salah because we didn't remotely plan for that

Just look at how many injuries we have.
19 yo CB who has yet to play a league game and our first choice but still in experienced RB are long term injuries

Then you have currently Isak, JoGo (no surprise) and Frimpong

I’d say that is not a big injury list for any Premier League team in Europe. Nothing special to call out

Our depth is so bad that 1 or 2 injuries completely derails us.

It's really not that hard to find. Those posts are everywhere.

But no really, I don't give a shit.

And for the record, I am not against sacking Slot and our performance is not good enough. I just don't see the point of bringing the same agenda to every thread. That's the difference.

Because every match doesn't exist in a vacuum. The same problems are every. Fucking. Game

Should we just ignore the base reasons we're playing poorly?

Don't bother with him, Fabio. What's the next stage up from village idiot? Because we've got one of those now too.

Switched it off when they were given their penalty, god only knows how Slot will position that one….probably without any emotion, chalking it up as unlucky like it’s a pre-season friendly.

He needs to show some fucking anger.

I think he responded to me. I don't even remember why he started ranting or what i said.

ANYWAY. As you were. The next few days is going to be a fun read of the same narrative over and over so I'm taking a hiatus.

That should cheer some people up. I guess?

There’s that but there’s also the lack of desire to use lesser players. Many on here say the same so it’s not just Arne

Szobo is a top tier player with huge energy and skill but will eventually find that the human body will breakdown. If you don’t use lesser players occasionally ultimately you reap the inevitable consequences

Can you outline what you were and weren’t happy with today, what you expect to see change for the next match and what you believe would signal an acceptable season following the context of being champions last year (all be it with a lot of turnover in the squad in the summer)

Fuck off and support Chelsea

Genuine question here, why does that mean he should go and support Chelsea? Because he called the manager a cunt? (I don't agree with that either, by the way)

Or is it wanting him sacked? The manager isn't good enough. We'd improve with him gone. We all want the side to improve...

We have spent a significant amount on a title winning side only to find ourselves scrounging around with Everton, Sunderland, Brentford, Fulham etc...

Life's too short mate. I watch the games, I let the professionals sort it out.

There are enough critics here anyway.

Right, but you know when can you use lesser player and when need the top. The Liverpool has some lesser player who would be top at other clubs...
