Post Match EPL Man City (H) 1-2 Sunday February 8th

19 yo CB who has yet to play a league game and our first choice but still in experienced RB are long term injuries

Then you have currently Isak, JoGo (no surprise) and Frimpong

I’d say that is not a big injury list for any Premier League team in Europe. Nothing special to call out
It's the profile of the injured players that matters. The injuries aren't scattered around, they are concentrated. This would hurt any team.

2x CBs
2xRBs
2xCFs (Inc. Danns)
No striker backup for Eki.

Just watching Arne now

If I talk about one moment I talk about Salah being pulled back but it was a red. Rest was 50 50

Regarding bench - we didn’t need to impact from bench because we played so well

Margins really small. Arne saying debatable decisions

Where are we now. We know league table is not good but games to come but we played well

CB - came in to the season under prepared
RB - bit unlucky, but Bradleys a sick note. We do actually have an RB on the bench...
Cf - unlucky. But chiesa can play there, and realistically we needed another winger to pick up the slack.

The chickens have come home to roost for poor decision making

There’s that but there’s also the lack of desire to use lesser players. Many on here say the same so it’s not just Arne

Szobo is a top tier player with huge energy and skill but will eventually find that the human body will breakdown. If you don’t use lesser players occasionally ultimately you reap the inevitable consequences
You don't give Szobo enough credit. He knows Slot will never rest him so he took it into his own hands.

Fuck my life he didn't watch 60 minutes of the game

Clap. Clap. Clap. We will definitely get top 4 or 5. Clap. Clap. Clap. Everything is ok. Clap. Clap. Clap. Where are my crayons?

It’s ok, we’ve tweaked the system a little so Salah will now stop being unable to trap a ball, run fast or finish with either foot.

The ref was fine bar the monginess at the end - which he initially got right before VAR stepped in.

We win that game if we play with more intent in the first half and after we score.

That's not a great City side.

I think the Silva foul on Salah is a pen. At least when he gives the one the other way.
Guehi could have been sent off

I didn't see a replay of the Silva thing? Did they show that on Sky? I was busy getting schooled by KopRed at this point so my attention may have been elsewhere.

Let me guess, Arne looking for excuses again huh? Failing to acknowledge any responsability? Saying the performance first half was just fine? That we created many, many, many chances?

Stupid divvy twat.

I understand the sentiment behind not being able to press and attack for 90 minutes. I'm not asking for that. Although, I'd argue it's possible to do it for the majority of the game - we did it under Klopp for years.

However, the players look confused and shackled and nervous playing this slow side to side shite. It's only when we play the old way that they look freer, happier, more like themselves. Why not do more of that?

Not to trot out clichés, but this slow, measured (if you can call it that) football is not in our DNA as a club. When we press and harass and play urgently, that's more befitting a Liverpool side. Start on the right foot. Especially at home. Play like a Liverpool side at Anfield.

Whenever we actually do that we look significantly better. But it all seems to be in too short bursts and in spite of the manager. It's like the players react to the emotion of the game and the fans and go against tactical instruction. It must be under instruction to not start that way or play that way more often because it's too common for it not to be. It's the majority of every game. I'm not saying heavy metal football for 100 minutes. But we can do it for longer than 20.

Do it at the start, put the shits up the opposition and build a lead. Then you can play your dull, turgid Slotball and strangle the life out of the game.

Atleast City gets the chance now , its horrible end if arsenal wins PL. If Slot continues this same shit few games more, all is lost and nobody can save it, so it would be best to sack him right now. Nothing to lose anyway. I have never seen so bad free kick what salah made in his favourite place. Well, now we dont have slobo in three games...

Bradley is known to be injury prone. So is Gomez (even moreso) and the new was very new and very young. You also cannot include Danns in that list when he has hardly ever played. There's no way Slot would play him even if Eki was injured.

One game.

We should have sacked the tosser before Crimbo.

this is what slot has done to us, we’re analysing and bitching about refereeing decisions whilst drifting somewhere towards the middle of the table.

it’s ok looking at these things when it’s fine margins at the top but we were fucking lucky to get our goal and not concede in the first half. you can’t bank on or build a season around worldly freekicks. we’re not very good, slot is very lucky he has some excellent individuals or we’d be in real trouble.
