Post Match EPL Man City (H) 1-2 Sunday February 8th

I'm not sure you can put aside player mistakes and/or fuck ups. Both have consequences that a coach can't legislate for.

No, you cant. They were part of it. But we found ourselves deep in our own half because of tactics. All just one big mess.
Alisson was terrible yesterday.

The amount of overplaying the ball or wrong decision making is ridiculous. I was screaming at Gakpo to pass to pass to Kerkez during one breakaway and he completely ignored him and held onto the ball to try and bring it inside (I know it happens every single match, but fuck me, maybe try coaching him a bit). Ekitike ignored Wirtz who was making a lung bursting run down the right into open space, instead choosing to pass it to the left where there were 3 defenders. Wirtz also had an opportunity to set Ekitike away with a quick knock on or flick and instead he tries to take 8 touches and ruins the entire move. Even Gravy, who was arguably our best player last season, is dwelling on the ball and losing it.

Salah is useless, but in fairness to him, we played to his strengths last season (get the ball early to him) and instead we arse about in midfield and defence until we lose it.
What is the tactics are “give it to Salah, and if he’s not available try to give to him again. If after three tries you can’t then do something else”

Yes but I wouldn't call many a people a cunt to their face? Because I don't fancy getting a punch?

Are we at the level of pedantry now where people aren't allowed to vent and bemoan?

Fuck me there's some precious bellends on here
I'm not remotely saying that people can't vent. Although I'm probably still a bell end.

It doesn't matter how much a player is signed for, it doesn't give anyone the God given right to be belitted and disrespected. This fucking snidy prick is driving the club into the fucking ground, and he's doing so without a fucking care in the world. Why am I supposed to turn a blind eye and be happy about that?

Next time someone calls Trump, Putin, Starmer or anyone else they don't know a cunt over the internet, let's all point how sad that is like that's going to make a difference.
I'm genuinely interested on how he was belittled and disrespected?
So you're acknowledging that calling someone a cunt over the internet doesn't make a difference, equating someone out of their depth to Trump etc is a bit hyperbolic but no surprise there

I think the whole point is that there's a lack of fight, especially from the manager. For that reason, people get more mad. If Slot was really fighting for us and the club and not deflecting and not refusing to bring on subs or playing the youth in any helpful way, I'm sure he would get way less vitriol. Refusing to do things the Liverpool way also means he doesn't get treated the Liverpool way

Until Sunday, the Reds were unbeaten in 109 home league games when scoring the opening goal (W98 D11). It was the latest they have ever led in a Premier League game yet gone on to lose, with Bernardo Silva's 84th-minute equaliser followed by Haaland's late penalty.

The reality is that Szoboszlai's stunning free-kick for the opening goal on Sunday should be another image on that wall in Kirkby. In the end, it was worth nothing as Liverpool again failed to see the game out.

In Premier League history, no team has ever scored more injury-time winners than Liverpool. They stand clear with 47, ahead of Arsenal (36) and Manchester United (34).

Liverpool have been renowned for late drama across their illustrious history. Yet in the here and now, they're making the wrong kind of history.

Doyle:

Many narratives could be sourced from this strange afternoon. But two became glaringly prominent during yet another tortuous injury time.

For the sixth occasion this season, Liverpool conceded a goal during the additional period that changed the result of a game, a failing that has now cost them a total of eight points.

More worrying, though, was the intervention of Alisson Becker in needlessly bringing down Mateus Nunes for the matchwinning penalty.

While safe enough with his handling throughout the game, Alisson had appeared less than convincing with the ball at his feet – some wayward passes put Virgil van Dijk in right bother – and contributed to the Anfield crowd's unease for spells in the first half.

As if to highlight the importance of a goalkeeper in form, at the other end Donnarumma, while unconvincing dealing with crosses, made a superb save from Alexis Mac Allisters deflected strike to preserve City’s late lead.

Another concern for Arne Slot is his team’s continued propensity to start games slowly, even if they were in the ascendancy after the break.

Liverpool have scored only once in the opening 30 minutes of any league game since September with none coming in their last nine.
