Post Match EPL Newcastle (H) 4-1 January 31st 20:00

Yeh after they scored we dominated. Had many chances to score more. Yeh they had loads of corners but how many really clear cut chances?

We fully deserved that win and a fair score

Should have been 6.

Gakpo needs to do more of what he was doing in the last 10 mins.

Salah, better in the second half.

Ekitike is amazing, 2 x goals and his header was the catalyst for Wirtz's goal.

Ibou, beast mode, best game I remember from him even after a really shitty couple of weeks for him.

Some excellent attacking performances there (Ekitike, Wirtz, Gakpo better than of late) apart from a predictably ineffective Mo.

Grav excellent and Konate with an imperious performance to remind us of what he can be. Alli super solid too.

First 30 or so were dreadful and I'm still fuming we let ginger bollocks score his first goal in open play in about 502 years, but once we ditched Slots tactics and picked up the pace they couldn't live with us. That last hour is how this team is built to play, plain and simple.

Started nervy and could have gone behind.

Then we took control and went behind and could have folded.

Hugo MOTM for me as without him I’m not sure we would have turned it around.

Sublime second but his all round play and arrogance was fantastic and exactly what a team struggling for confidence needs to see from its attackers.

Wirtz some lovely play, magical assist and beautifully controlled finish.

Salah had some awful moment but kept going, kept showing, almost scored, played some good balls and got an assist too.

Gakpo showed glimpses too just not enough.

Virgil was excellent but for once was outshone by his playing partner who motivated by his dads passing had his best game in years.

Lovely to see Ali race up to celebrate with him.

Dom was fantastic as a stand in RB and Kerkez goal aside was very promising. I’m loving how he’s growing into the role.

Macca is building confidence and had a good game but needs to cut out the fannying about like a few others when getting a tap.

Gravy was exceptional and Tonali couldn’t get near him on more than 1 occasion.

Ali made some crucial saves too. I hope he stays til he’s 40!

Jones made a big impact when he came imo and lifted us from our sit back approach. The tackle was magic.

Nice to see Endo getting back to back minutes and always great to hear the Chiesa song after that flick.

All in all a brilliant display considering recent form in the league and Slot continues to defy all the fans who want him gone.

Back in the CL places, still in the FA Cup and into the last 16 of CL.

Maybe just maybe it won’t be the worst transitional season ever.

He scored Weds night from open play.

Good response to going down.
Wirtz and Hugo were key in turning around a dire 1st half- theyre our present and future.
Macca is getting back to form.

I said in thread but if a maanger says a player isnt good enough and basically wont play him, why put him on the bench? Feel bad for ramsay.

Hooper was absolutely shocking again - can someone explain to me how Burn didn’t get a second yellow?
Because he gave him a yellow a minute earlier for questioning a condition and didn’t feel like he deserved to go off because of that is my best guess. He should have gotten a second yellow.

Thought the ref had a good game all in all.

Strange game at times, was like the only 2 midfielders on the pitch were Gravy and Tonali.

Good to see the understanding that Wirtz and Ekitike are building.

Absolutely delighted when Konate's goal went in.

10-1 in 4 days, no arguing with that.

Respectfully disagree, I thought he missed a few obvious challenges and a pen….as well as the obvious second yellow.

He was shocking and absolutely knackered. He really didn't want to make a decision and when he did it was usually wrong.

How he's a top level ref, only god knows.

I haven’t seen a team do that in decades at the top level.

That sounds more championship manager than real life football.
But they were both largely useless the whole game. And both are playing so that they have to cut back. I'm just wondering why you wouldn't try something instead of watching the same fruitless shite for 80-odd minutes

I don’t think they were largely useless. Gakpo was much improved and could easily have gotten a goal or assist.

Salah even more so and did get an assist.

Not to say both were infuriating at times too.

My main point is that I just don’t see it at any club really.

I don’t ever recall Salah and Mane swapping under Klopp.
