That was my favourite performance of the season, we worked hard defended well attacked throughout the game, fought for everything in what’s been a difficult away ground for teams this season. The sort of performance sandwiched anywhere in last seasons fixtures wouldn’t have looked out of place. Good 3 points onto the next one.

Because we won the game, I think it's fair to say this isn't an "excuse", but I have to say that pitch at Sunderland is horrendous. You shouldn't be allowed to play in the PL with such a shit pitch condition.

In the end, the pitch is what contributed to Endo getting his studs caught in the ground and going over on his knee.

We're lucky this was the only injury today.
